yeah the intro doesn't really suit the drop, but when the drop comes, it's actually a really nice tune. maybe instead of having the samples repeat so often in the song, maybe put it only at the end of every 16 bars or something. there's also a lot of reverb on the vocals. i like the feel of the track though, it could really work on a dance floor once it's done! don't give up on this tune, it has potential

cheers
thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. i'm just gonna cut that intro, it's a bit silly...

love the yoshi vocals, where'd you get them?! they're ridiculous. however, just as you suggested to me to use the vocals a little less, i think i'm gonna suggest the same for you lol. imo they'd have more effect if they were used less liberally. your kick and snare, however, are P H A T. nice work on that! i like the sound of the bass as well, but i wish there were more sub, which could be caused by the massive kick. it's your tune though, so it's up to you what to devote to the sub range. also, if it were possible and you cared enough to put in the work, making the bass thicker with resampling/layering would probably take this tune to the next level. overall though good work man, and again, "YOSHIII!" :5:

If only.

@ Grime Syndicate- (sinalogical) It's got some cool atmospheres but I think the dirty synths need some work. Can't say too much more as it's just not my style.

@ Mars- lacking any real bass. Not exactly keen on the melody/samples but the levels seems about right for most of the instruments. Not feeling that main bass.

@ Raynes- I really like the build up idea but it seems a bit muddy. If you can get those strings/pad to sit together better it would be really cool. Maybe a bit of dynamic variation in the strings would be great. I can't tell if the drums are meant to be so far back or are they being masked by the rest of the track? The rhythms are cool though, this track needs some mix work but the idea is definitely there.

@ Johnst- Interesting sort of sound, sounds coherent enough but the upstroke guitar sounds like the wrong chord for this track, maybe it's meant to be like that though. I think the hat pattern could be way improved and give the track a bit more groove.

@ Alexvont- very similar to Raynes, really nice idea and interesting bass sound but the drums are completely masked and nothing really cuts through as well as it should. Maybe the pad is too broad frequency-wise? Maybe too generous with the reverb? Like it. Can't really feel any sub though.

@ Nicorisone- Wish it was longer, the percussion sounds are pretty much spot on. The piano lines are nice but it sounds very dry and forward in comparison. Maybe a little drop in volume, make it a bit spacier, add some bass and that'll be a really nice tune.

How do I embed my track with the embed code to put it in my post instead of just a link?

@snellvillian7 - Sounds pretty good.. but i would add some mix up to the snare somewhere in there. Also to get white noise add a 3x-Osc Channel, turn down all them 'cept one and hit the noise button. Automate a high pass filter or volume to make a whhooOOOSSH(-- BASS DROP) noise..
More feed back soon..

vvvvTodays update... made aloot of changes.. Completely re-did bassline, tweaked alot of stuff. Still got alot of work to do...vvvv

Hate to repost, but here's another version of the business, Really lacking some needed inspiration to finish it, I know this sounds bad but It's almost made for a bigger system, I don't totally expect it'll sound good without massive amounts of drugs or a club system, BUT that might just be me.

Please feedback, all will be returned

@kes-es This song would be epic for blasting in a car. The bass doesn't sound too good on shitty headphones like mine, though. Nice tune, man :)

Alexvont- My immediate thought when I turned this on was that I'm not a fan of the kick, other than that I really enjoy this, really chill, I like the the drum programing, I'm not big on the notes you played with the bassline but that may be just me, they seem to drift in and out of key and mood alot so the track itself is giving me very little to hold on to besides a constant atmosphere and good drum programing, I can see where this is going and I like it, but I would give the bass a little something to make it stand out more and then put it in a more constant riff, and then write a melody to hook the song, I enjoyed what was here, and I didn't mean for that to sound as negative because I really did like it.
Safe man! Thanks for the feedback!

@ Matthew-B - Sounds pretty good man... Interesting bass.. can't really tell if i like it. I really like the drums except the snare sounds a little harsh. Definitely has potential. Keep it up. :W:

Kes: really really nice work with the strings! whatever you’ve got going on to the left of the stereo field adds some serious dimension. maybe if you balanced it out with the right side too it would be even cooler?... nice full bass there, i like how it changes after the second drop. you may want to tweak it a little more though, there is a note or two that you linger on for too long, it works with the scale you’re doing, but it’s more of a transition note that should more be used to move your bassline. otherwise, it’s a very nice little groovy bass. and by little i mean large. yeah... :D

alexvont: it’s got a nice atmosphere to it, although i would suggest adding some more sparkle to those pads, they’re pretty low frequency wise and you don’t really have anything going on in the high hat range. this tune will be vastly filled out just by adding some sparkle. nice subtle bass as well, but just like i said to kes i would tweak it to make it flow a little better. just a few notes every now and again that you might want to avoid. also, maybe keep the wobbles more uniform with each other?... i say that because i’m all for variation but i feel like in this tune is made to be repetitive just to sit and chill to while smoking a spliff. also, i’m pretty sure the drums need work eq wise, but my headphones are crap and eqing drums is the bane of my existence, so yeah... good work, keep it up!

Matthew: nice little piano riff off the side. I felt like the whole tune was an intro unfortunately. it’s got some good ideas, but that bass is just too crunchy and in your face for the rest of the elements. i’m not quite sure where you’re taking this song, but work on that bassline and repost it, work on more of an intro and add more elements to the drop so that it’s an obvious change. i’m sorry if this wasn’t that helpful, once you work on it a little more though i’m interested to hear it!

i posted another song on this page too, but i suddenly freaked out and made this today... um, help with a good intro would be much appreciated. and anything else you can think of. :W:

Listening through Sennheiser HD's. :)

Kes-es: I'm becoming a fan of a lot of your stuff man. I think your drop could be more prominent, it lacks that wow factor that that bass deserves. I love that square wave . Proper deep with that reverb. And the organ is really well written and produced. Problem is, that bass is so thick that the percussion gets a tad lost. Personally, I'd EQ it, and then pan some of it. All of it going central with that bass it's completely swamped. But i really love the tune man.

Alexvont12: Deffo some improvements since I last listened. Love that bass sound. I think your tune in general is a bit bottom heavy though in general man. If this were my track, I'd want to make it more steppy, and get some shuffles in there and some higher end synths. Obviously that's my interpretation though. Definitely improved since last time though. Need some variations too; got tired by the end.

Snellvillain7: drums are sounding nice if a little stiff. Get loose man! That's what this genre is all about! But yeah, synths came in nicely but again sounded a tad constrained. I think your ideas are right, you just gotta let the tune breath. Its very hard to do mind. Bits of EQing and compression and verbs/sweeps/pads will do the trick :)

OK so I know I've been here a lot recently, but I started this today and I'm really proud of it!

My thoughts on some tracks:

Kes-
Very Snappy man i like it. I enjoy that Subby Bass alot. i really enjoy a snare or clap with a good whip to it so i appreciate the sample you chose. Ill have your original a listen so i can offer more input.

I like the direction. Its also good that you notice it lacks transitions. (For me is the hardest aspect of producing) Id add more movement to the song personally to create more interest to the listener. You can do this a ton of different ways but i like to mix in automation to do this.

My first WIP track posted in a long time is in my sig.. Go easssy

@ Johnst (lika da bass) Pretty sick little number there so far, wasnt feeling the vocal effect just before the drop, got too used to hearing that about 6 years ago. Thought the drums werent clean enough either, im all for a bit of gritty drum, but they just sound like they've come straight from a poorly recorded loop, i like the arrangement though. Great bass sounds.

@ Debaser1 Again some pretty sick sounds in there, sounded a bit flat on my cans, but the arrangement and high energy feel made up for that, keep it up.

@ Mars Nice job mate, really like the basses, not sure about those funny vocals though, tune has a bitof a dark feel about it and they just seem to let it down a bit. Same thing i mentioned here for johnst, drums dont stand up to the basses very well, just like his they sound like theyve been pulled from a poorly recorded loop again
