Re: ritalin
thank you hayze!
but as i read in many places - ritalin has no addiction? at least not a strong one and not a physical one. probably comparable to mdma. and i am actually very able to control my mdma consumation.

Re: ritalin
I forgot to mention, it works entirely different for people who actually have ADHD and those who don't. I don't, and it works like a strong dose of caffeine or something would. For someone with ADHD, theyll be calmed down more and wont feel the upper part as much. Don't compare results from people prescribed it for ADHD with people taking it recreationally, as it can have different effects.
Re: ritalin
It's not a physical addiction per se. It's a mental addiction in that you quickly begin to feel that its unbearable to work without it, and become rather obsessive about dosages and timing. Once you've bashed out an essay on speed, doing it without it is the most unbelievably boring thing on the planet.vulvavibration wrote:thank you hayze!

Regardless, MDMA consumption is an entirely different thing - there's a certain point where your body just won't let you take it anymore.
The thing that usually stops my benders - my MDMA, coke, alcohol, whatever - consumption, is getting tired, and seeing daylight; knowing you have to get some sleep and starting to feel like shit. This doesn't happen on amphetamines. E.g:
3pm - Take amphetamines to work
7pm - You're starting to fade, but are doing so well on your work, you might as well keep going, and take another.
1am - Nearly. Finished. Just 1 more
6am - Shit, now you can't sleep, you still feel wide awake, might as well take another one and stay up the whole night; no point sleeping now
11am - Fuck, You're crashing, just need to last till the next day, take one more.
3pm - You're where you were at before.
Within a good couple hours of this cycle on MDMA, your body will just crash out; it won't keep you alert or awake anymore and you'll just fade. Amphetamines have the wondrous ability of making you feel completely awake and sober after 2 days without sleep, and all of a sudden, you've gone 3 days without sleeping, popping ritalin the whole time.
This is just a keen example. I've never actually done this, but recognise the danger of it happening. This isn't actually where I think amphetamines are dangerous - it's just a warning. It comes down to what I said above:
You become dependant on them to work and obsessive about your routines
I think that almost anyone on these forums is intelligent enough to recognise the a 'bender' happening, but I went through the whole obsessive work dependancy thing for a very long time before I keyed onto what was going on, and stopped it immediately.
Re: ritalin
this sounds about right. I took Ritalin for a year when I was 18 and it's pretty mad, gives intense focus / tunnel vision. Definitely physiologically addictive, moodswings aplenty when you've been taking it for a while.murky21 wrote:Whenever you usually get the urge to procrastinate, that literally completely goes. I felt largely normal but was so single minded that I got it all rinsed, and it sounds pretty cliche but I even ended up cleaning both the communal areas AND my mates rooms.
I wouldn't recommend anyone self-medicate for obvious reasons, but I'm sure it would do the trick if you needed 1000% concentration for a short period of time.
Re: ritalin
fuck ritalin, you need concerta. thousand times more chilled than ritalin. It basicly gives you a dose every half an hour instead of giving you everything at once like ritalin does. You need a subscription to get it though, or find a person who's got a subscription for it ofcourse ; )
I advise you to only use it in extreme situations like stated above cuz it will break you up if you use it too much/too frequently. Can't laugh at jokes, you become edgy, tooth grinding etc. etc. very unpleasent to say the least. on the upside you can go on a 24 hour study session if needed but again for that I would def. go for Concerta © cuz you need way too much ritalin to keep you focussed for the whole night.

I refuse to believe any drug would make me work undistracted, for 12+ hours straight. And enjoy it at the same time.
Procrastination extraordinaire. I'd probably just rag through every single photo, from every friend on Facebook.

Re: ritalin
i have giant problems with procrastination, to the point where i get abslutely angry and pissed at myself for not getting my ass up and doing X, but still not doing it. it's been like that for almost 5 years now and i found that the only thing that ALWAYS helped me getting out of my rut was when a friend gave me all his ritalin. that way i'd take a pill for everything i normally have struggle doing: getting up in the morning, concentrating in classes i don't like, doing homework et cetera.
as soon as i run out of pills i struggle with my fucked up sleep cycle -> can't get up in the morning -> fall into a deep rut again.
the point where i stopped taking it was when i started doing it at friday and saturday nights too, and at the same time if i had speed left from the weekend taking it before school. i suddenly noticed that i was on my way to becoming a drug victim with 16 years
the reward for not taking any amphetamines anymore is now, 2 years later, that i dropped out of school, struggle to find a job and can't get anything done
still better than being dead at 40 from heart failure like some workaholic banker on coke though i suppose
in other words: DON'T. you WILL depend on it if it is what you need to work.

wtf! Surely if you can't be bothered to get up or/and need to do a months work in 3 days your just a lazy unorganised twat?
Jesus, I enjoy recreational drugs as much as the next man, but if you need drugs to simply function like a normal human being then you need a kick up the arse or an appointment with a doctor.

Re: ritalin
wierd this being here, anyone taken medikinet? cos i got prescribed it the other day and tried it today. had my fun with mdma n speed in the past (maybe too much fun lol). they are slow acting so cracked the capsule open and crushed half the stuf in there to make it work faster (i woke at 2pm). basically ended up rushing round london delivering stuff, my job, but with a massive gurn on. felt like an idiot. like when your still gurning like mad form the night before and your chatting to normal people. also kept forgetting stuff, witch is part of the reason i took it! neway lesson learnt probably, wont be crushing them and will be saving em for when im knacked due to insomnia. lifes a bitch and then you die eh!!

Re: ritalin
I wholly agree with thinking & marked.
I have ADHD badly and lots and lots of Ritalin--sitting unused. I hate the stuff. Makes you feel sick / jittery like you’ve just drank 9 cups of coffee. Yes, helps you concentrate… but, believe me, its not a drug you “DO” for fun or studying unless you really really have to.
Sometimes, after its been like a year and I’ve forgotten what it feels like, will go “Geez. I’m not getting anything done today. I should probably use some…”
An hour later I’m like
“Oh…. yeah… now I remember why I stopped taking it"

Re: ritalin
yep. you can stay up for a week or more on speed and feel fine at the time altho bad comedown after. like remember mephedrone, that stuff was similar compound was it not? i think i stayed up for 4 days on that. although saying that i was a paranoid wreck at the end of it but id been having loads of k too. and i was at a week long new years party... that started before new year...ended on the 5th......... so yeah i dont know what it would be like getting work done i guess ill have to try ritalin just to knock it off the list. although i say that about everything including deadly nightshade and smakhayze99 wrote:Within a good couple hours of this cycle on MDMA, your body will just crash out; it won't keep you alert or awake anymore and you'll just fade. i don't want to get ritalin associated with a party.
it's for work/study purposes.
