Love the originals (2012 is incredible) but not feeling the dub versions at all. Shame 'cause I've enjoyed Scientist versions in the past.

Having said that I am going off boomkat previews, but nothing I've heard's convinced me to part with the additional £7.

assuming the vinyl is the original versions only?

more then likely bag this but just want to clarify

What I like about dub is its treatment of organic sounds and live instruments. It's probably just a matter of personal taste but it sounds really messy when the techniques are applied to tunes like Ill Kontent and The Long Way which aren't organic sounding at all - far too "muddy" for my ears.

No doubt Scientist is a talented man and I'm sure there's a lot to love about his versions. Like I say it's probably just a matter of personal taste.

i'll be honest with you, i'm not a massive fan of the scientist versions either. i dont think there was too much scope to dub a lot of them. love scientists stuff a lot (older stuff that is) but i'm not a massive fan of this. don't mind that i parted with my money for it though.

Arrived today, pleased but pretty dissapointed to find that Ill Kontent is at 33rpm! On chemical it looked asif it'd be an A side.

Ah well

Is there any big difference when playing out 45rpm vs 33?

Dog money is 45 (not sure about this tune at all, is it just me?)

so are Marshes, City Cycle & 2012

To be tottally fair, i bought the whole release for Ill kontent. I think i might sell the scientist release and get a dub cut with distances track on and another tune on the flip, as it'd only be a tenner more and i think id be alot happier.

Ill Kontent should definitely have been a 45- that said this is a wicked release either way and I'm happy with that

Think 33's are quieter but i don't see why it would make a difference when you have gain controls

Just not ideal for mixing in my opinion, pitch feels different and nudging isnt the same as when mixing 45,

I can definitely say i dont like it as much thats for sure.
