I'm guessing people will hate on that because it's legal?

That's how it works right?

What about all the proper pieces I see down my high-street, on shop fronts and boarded up tings?

Surely they aren't legal but they aren't throw-ups either.

HDR - High Dynamic Range.

It's essentially 3+ exposures combined into one shot to allow you to get mad shit like that.

It doesn't take a whole gang of skill really, often looked down upon. But it can produce nice surreal images if used correctly.

When done poorly though;

think the HDR posted by DZA looks pretty good to be honest. If its not going to look different than a standard photo then whats the point. nice.

Too big to post.
every bit of graff has an appreciative purpose to me

you get pieces on tracksides that are illegal that are DEEP full colour things that take hours to do, same with pieces on trains, thats skill and balls.

the only point about legal graff is that its legal, thats it, it removes a serious hindrance out of what you're doing, namely the fear and danger of getting caught

so illegal graff for a writer will always have more respect, especially when its illegal piecing. the unwritten law is a tag is bottom rung, then a throwup covers a tag, then a dub covers a throw up, then a piece covers a dub... if you're writing illegally thats what you go by. Legal walls to me are fair game, you paint, take your picture and fuck off and forget about it

some old timer tried involving me in some beef recently about a piece on a legal wall, beefing about legal walls jus shows you aint got anything better to do really.

that ziml piece is nice, dont really like the style tbh but its nice still, proper skillful - and its blatantly a commission, if not then you got some very lax police round that area!! lucky boy!

Yeah that all makes sense I guess.

I think this particular area of the city is basically 'tolerated', as long as it has some sort of artistic merit that non-heads would appreciated. I've seen a few people doing pieces, but only late at night and looking pretty shifty so I don't think it's exactly legal.

Some more shit from my surrounding streets.

These two are right outside my gaff, yeah it says 'Graffiti' but it's nicer than looking at breeze-blocks.

My local trainstation, was originally commissioned but none of that can be seen anymore to my knowledge.

That was what surprised me.

When you see basic tags or throw ups its easy to assume its just mindless "amateurs" not doing it for artistic reasons. But the whole thing of doing it by numbers as a fuck you to the system or just cos of the pure addiction to it makes more respectable. And the lifestyle that goes with it sounds like it'd be pretty hard to give up or get out of.
