I just recently purchased NI's Massive hoping to be able to make some cool sounds but as it was downloading the download just immediately stopped and I received this error message. I tried going back to the link on my browser but I got this weird error message as well. So, I decided to contact there technical support and as I was on the phone I was on hold for about 20 minutes and they finally answer and then the guy redirects me to the actual technical support. At this time I was like "isn't this the fucking technical support? this fucking number was listed right on there site as 'Technical Support." So, I am on hold for another 10 minutes and they answer and they say the fucking same shit and redirect me to there "Technical Support" At this point I wanted to seriously explode and just say fuck you, you guys suck! So, at last they answer and the guy sends me a new link in the e-mail address I used to purchase this bullshit program. I go to the new link and download it. It downloaded successfully (yes I downloaded the Service Center and the AU, VST)BUT when I tried using the vst in my daw it opens up this menu and lists three buttons to click and they say "Activate, Buy, & Demo" So I click activate since i layed out $200 for it and when it tries to open up the Service Center it just crashes and my mac gives me an error every single time! So when I'm using massive it's only running as a demo. I tried calling Technical Support again they were closed and done answering calls. So i looked up the days of business hours and it said Monday - Friday and today is Friday. FUCK! I have to wait 2 days! I was considering buying the cd but thought it would take to long to arrive and I hate waiting.

There's nothing I hate more than bad customer service. Big business/capitalism in general can all suck a fat one.

Re: Native Instruments can...
About a year ago I purchased one of the Kore sample packs, they had loads of download problems at the time, technical support didn't help that much. A week later I managed to download the whole pack without interruptions. Then about a month later there was a Kore player update available via Service center, so I started downloading. Turns out that the update was Intel only (I'm on a PPC Mac) and it didn't install, but somehow managed to overwrite all my NI plugins with Intel based code or something. Haven't been able to access any of my NI AU's since. I've sent a couple of emails to Technical support and posted on the NI forums, zero responses so far.
Re: Native Instruments can...
NI Technical support is terrible. I have to admit that. Horrendous. The one time I had to call I went through the same thing as you guys. But their software and equipment is so d*** perfect... They make everything you need and it works so beautifully you just keep coming back… It’s like being stuck in a relationship with a complete B*TCH because you’ll never find another girl like Her
Re: Native Instruments can...
Try this - It sorts out a whole host of crashing problems on a mac -
Goto Disk Utility (its in your utilities folder) then click on your hard drive, and select repair permissions. Once its done, Shut down the computer (dont restart) you will need to leave it for a good 5 seconds for it to flush its cache.
Try again.
Ps, did you have a non legit version installed before??

Re: Native Instruments can...
This is precisely why I bought a hard copy of Massive and didn't rely on the downloads when their site was going ape shit the other week during the 50% sales.
Re: Native Instruments can...
yea, i have had a pirated version before but i knew that having that would might f**k up the download so i tried deleting everything that had the name "massive" init on my mac but i don't think it helped or i may have missed sometinDepone wrote:Try this - It sorts out a whole host of crashing problems on a mac -

Re: Native Instruments can...
Have you tried launching the Service Center on its own in order to update itself and whatever you've got installed, without going through your DAW?

The ordering page fell over at least a half dozen times whilst I was entering my payment information
Re: Native Instruments can...
Did you check the application support folders in Both of your Libraries? Search doesn't search there.Hypefiend wrote:yea, i have had a pirated version before but i knew that having that would might f**k up the download so i tried deleting everything that had the name "massive" init on my mac but i don't think it helped or i may have missed sometinDepone wrote:Try this - It sorts out a whole host of crashing problems on a mac -

Uninstall massive again. Then delete the related massive files located here:
HD->Library->application support->native instruments->massive
HD->users->yourname->library->application support->native instruments->massive
now re-install you crackhead
Re: Native Instruments can...

Re: Native Instruments can...
supposedly a lot of crashing problems with massive can be solved by running it as a standalone before running it as a plugin...so if you reinstall it, try that first.
Re: Native Instruments can...
Depone your a legend, why I have never done this i dont know, the list of stuff it repaired was stupidly long.Depone wrote:Try this - It sorts out a whole host of crashing problems on a mac -

Love komplete, reaktor is worth the cost of komplete. If you buy komplete you can sell your standalone version of massive, that's what I did. Kontakt is a pretty dope sampler, I haven't even scratched the surface with it. Doesn't it come with a few other synths now? I forget.
NI is absolutely the worst with installation. Just the worst of any software dev I've ever dealt with. I don't know how they can screw up something everyone else seems to get perfect...
Good softs though.

love Reaktor
NI has helped me in the past with transferring licenses, etc...
never had to call tech support, but they were quick to respond via email

As soon as I read your post that's the exact thing I was thinking. Some of the Massive cracks have reaped havok on people's system's especialy when they try and go with a legal copy.Hypefiend wrote:yea, i have had a pirated version before but i knew that having that would might f**k up the download so i tried deleting everything that had the name "massive" init on my mac but i don't think it helped or i may have missed sometinDepone wrote:Try this - It sorts out a whole host of crashing problems on a mac -

If all else fails, just straight up tell them your computer had a cracked version on it before. they might have some ideas of how to combat that (since i'm sure they have seen it a tone before).

in soviet dsfland, all software problems are caused by piracy

Re: Native Instruments can...
Agreed; installing my legit copy of Massive, the Control Centre still detected that in my wayward youth (about 5yrs ago to be precise) I'd had a cracked copy of Kontakt and Battery2 installed, long since deleted and I'd thought stripped from my machine but not, still evidence of them being on there.trench wrote:As soon as I read your post that's the exact thing I was thinking.
