Please quit with the crappy blogs!

Post by Be-1ne » Fri Dec 17, 2010 8:32 am

I rarely post anything negative, but this has bugged me for a while. It feel's like everyday there is a new post about a new blog that basically adds nothing to anything. We have people who post news directly on here, we have plenty of other media outlets to hear and find out news on a wider scale.... many of which, to be fair, just copy and paste a story from an original source and link it back to the original source. Or the ones that really bug me.. downloading a tune someone put up for free then advertising it on your blog and then re-uploading it acting like it's an exclusive download from your blog.

Please

Stop!

if you cant think of something original to do with your time, go buy an xbox! and quit filling up the forum with useless junk. :4:

This, we go out of our way over on mine (which Ill resist shamelssly spam linking, and assume anyone whos into deeper stuff will ask if they want it) to lock down solid mixes from artists we think need the hype, we give people outlets for there dubs they would wnana distribute for free but would like added promo with, we feature visual artists, production tips and break samples, cmon, not all of us who run blogs have nothing to say, jeez. :a:

dubstep for deep heads is pretty large

it does seem kinda odd though when people come on here and tell people to get on their blog to keep up to date etc when people on here are the most aware of whats happening in dubstep already lol

some are nonsense though as well...just not aware of dubstep themselves

hahaha, could say the exact same thing to most 'producers' who need "help" or "feedback" or "production tips" tbh.

although if we're talking about people who fill up the forum with useless junk, I could probably do to logoff from here once in a while myself. :|

I also hate people who have one-man projects and use the term "we" to make it sound like a collective :W:

your blog is your own work / drawings - which makes it good as only you have the content.

With all these repost blogs, there is the option of just ignoring them. Much like shit music, they disappear after a while.

Blackdowns blog is one of the main reasons I started mine.

A lot of these blogs/sites get started with good intentions, then they turn into massive ego trips for the people writing them. I think that is part of the reason why mine is sporadically updated and when it is, its something I'd consider to be worthwhile, rather than typing endless re-jigged one sheets. Granted, my grammar and spelling isn't the best and the producers and DJ's I cover aren't to everyone's taste, but if something in the tunes resonated within me, then it might in another person?

Even if its only one person that gets turned on to some of my friends like J:One or Wen through the tunes of theirs I posted, then it justifies why I keep doing it. At some point I also want to start a label and run it alongside the blog, so all the contacts I make now, I'm sure will help me down the road.

If heads don't agree with what I'm doing just because there has been an explosion of "blogs/sites" recently, then it is kind of upsetting. Especially when all I want to do is showcase good music that might otherwise be overlooked. Where is the crime in that?

agreed. pretending something doesn't exist is far more effective than criticizing it..why put any effort into being negative instead of leading by example?
