I like that site. Keeps things in perspective.Kes-Es wrote:I don't know if it's anyone else's deal, but don't submit your tracks to dnb scene for review, if you're not sure, you need to be able to take criticism, not an ass pounding ego rape.
yes, it was nice in keeping the perspective part.paravrais wrote:I like that site. more people need that ass pounding ego rape and honesty instead of a bunch of yes men friends and purely positive people who won't criticizeJohnst wrote:yes, it was nice in keeping the perspective part.paravrais wrote:I like that site. Agree. You have to be able to roll with the punches.deadly habit wrote:it's called a reality check
heh i've had on more than occasion people not be able to take blunt critique and been told to fuck off my tunes are shit anyways, my friends like this etc by some random peeps hitting me up for some reason if they hate my stuff that muchJFK wrote:Agree. embarrassing? how? trust me, your gonna have to be extremely lucky, or wait a long time for a label to pick you up just like that.. dont be silly and send demos around.. theres Nothing embarrassing about thatCapture pt wrote:Yeh - this was another thing I wanted to avoid - nothing knows the sound more than the label itself, right? Would be awfully embarrassing to be told "tunes are decent but not our thing" - but then of course this puts us back at square 1, trying to get labels to hear the product in the first place!skanky beats wrote:
and also, i think wait for the label to contact you, that way your music will find a more suitable home!

well honestly expecting a quality unbiased review of a dubstep tune on a site called dnb[/i[/]scene...Kes-Es wrote:I didn't mean the ego rape was bad, I'm not often sober enough to care anyways, but like Johnst mentioned, it's not quite butterflies and sunshine to hear your music is terrible, and it's especially less nice because a lot of the critique is coming from the tempo not the actual music, I have reviews on there mentioning as much as the reasoning. It also makes you think that the people who do like your tunes are Dumb/patronizing you.
It did let me on to the Idea that my music all has an unfinished feeling to it that I should finish it to fix... I was just saying it's a bad place to go if you're prone to giving up at a glare.

maybe you haven't been in either scene that long, but there's a history, and i'm not talking a positive one or about drumstep
