Your track is very good, and is some stiff competition. This could comedown to one vote, so if I was you, I would not bother voting like I am.

I remember visiting your soundcloud, or myspace a few years ago, and thinking your tracks where pretty well produced, and your attention to detail was very good, probably the best I have heard around here. I just found they lacked any real sort of hook, and did not really grip me. After challenging you I went straight to your soundcloud, and check all your stuff out, and the first thing I thought was "oh shit, im gonna to have, to really up my game for this one". I fell your tracks have now developed more of a hook, but I still think this is the main area of production you should focus on, because every thing eles in you production is pretty spot on, especially your drum fills/edits I can see you spend alot of time on them, and are not just a after thought, like they seem to be for most people (i was joking about your africa, its one of the ones I like the most btw)

When making my track I kept in mind your strengths and weaknesses, and have tried to play them against you. I know how much you care for every element in your tracks, so I tried to do the same with my track. I also know I would need to get the best hook I could ever write to really stand a chance, so I spent I lot of time on this. I am very happy with my track, maybe my best yet, thats why I did not want it for download (sorry guys). I also learnt a lot from making this track, the most I have learnt in a very long time when producing.

I feel your track is good, but I think you could have done a bit better going by your other track, you did not really push yourself like I did.

As for the whole "art cigarette", Im not going to use this term anymore around here (when I see one in my white van Im still going to shout names at him/her :6: ). Anyway maybe you should embrace the term, like I embrace the term geek. I don't think we would every get along to be honest, I think we have very different view. At the start of all this you really did piss me off some how, but the day after my shit talking was just to get some hype, I was hoping you would play-along some more.

So I am sorry if I offended you, or anyone eles. I hope their is no hard fellings, and we can just get back to the normal chilled production forum, after this battle is over.

Peace,
3za.

Yo, track A has more listens... but less votes.

Track B is the music you hear in the lobby of a massage parlor.

I vote Track A.

Im going with A. The bass is a bit more solid and carries the tune nicely.

Seriously though, you guys shouldnt be battling, you should be collaborating. Two very nicely produced tracks.

hmmmm.... not feeling either, I reckon A could have been alot better if the bass was abit richer, sounds a little dull. Same goes for the percussion. would have loved abit more snap in the mid highs. The bass does moves it forward nicely though.

B-- bass sounds nice where it kicks in, some of those notes are too low & lack any punch, kinda makes the track start & stop.
not feeling the melody ay, really slow & repetitive... ya could have gone alot further with it, can feel it wanting to be more ... but it doesn't get there.

So I have to vote A!! has a better vibe overall, would have luvd some delayed snares & a richer bass... but it beats B!!

Voted A the progression in B was too pop standard for my tastes and the melody was highly naff as a result. It's well written, it just sounds horribly cheesy in a 'bad advert for coca cola' kinda way to me.

Biggups mate, if I am honest.. I write STUPIDLY slow - end up getting fed up with a track and then just calling it finished so I was happy i got a listen-able point with the track and really tried to get my mix down half decent as its truely my weakest point. I'm at a really bad creative mindset at the moment where "real life" makes it hard to write music so this was actually very good for me as it put pressure to make music.

I am really impressed by your tune and its 20 times better than what ive heard before, you should be proud of yourself! I am also a huge geek as well as a art-cigarette. I even buy comic books still hahaha :5: .

I'm really not a shit talker, I am a very blunt and to the point person, much like my music if a fight breaks out I don't call names, I just throw a punch I don't like beating around the bush its pointless so the hype thing was just getting on my nerves a lot !

At the end of the day, we both stepped up and people are complimenting our music so whoever loses isn't really a loser... I for one am not changing my user name for obvious reasons and hence-forth you shouldn't either... If this tune battle was half as serious as the others then i'd happily put more at stake but I think its good to see another producer putting a lot of effort in it to prove his worth as a music maker...

Even though you shout at people in your white van, I respect you stepping up.

And to everyone else who loves a good tune battle and the shit talking...Its really ruining the integrity of 1) other people taking dubstep seriously. 2) showing this part of the board is awfully immature at times and not showing the producers of tomorrow are modest, smart and nice people... Even posting on forums is marketing yourself, remember that! And refer to the "personality vs music" thread.
