@dj raynes loving the ambience and chilled out bass..]
@dj nation like the drop at 1.22 maybe incorperate more into the melody at the end
@randomic not a dan of the build up.. like the contrast between the fast and slow wobbles

Thrown together idea... FUCKING BRICK WALL! Throwaway? or where to go with it?

@DJRaynes : very nice ambient-ish vibe you got there, I like it I could fall asleep to that.

@Mawsta : I like the heavy dark bass & vibe you got going on.

@Thuun : Wow! i really like it.. Very robotic, bass is heavy. Wouldn't mind getting a 320 and playing it at my next gig. When you finish it is there anyway I could get / buy a copy? :)

Anyways, this is my first post.. I've had ableton for about a week, been messing around with it seriously for about three days. This is my first attempt at making a full track. Please, tell me what you think.

Any constructive advice is much appreciated.

infestedpasta- great start. the bass sounds like its nice n smooth to me. that panning in the beginning may be just a little too much?? i dunno man sounds pretty sweet for just starting. keep playing with it see what you discover! oh that snare sound is actually super dope but i dunno if it fits with this song.

alexvont12- have you maybe tried adding some delay to that string instrument? it can really open your track up! also i dont know about that low bass starting at at :58 i feel like a cleaner sound would compliment this song much more, it sounds too distorted. i like the melody tho, evolve on that! not worth trashing tho man! keep working at it :m:

DJRaynes- that fade out at ~2:14 is a little sloppy id say fix that. overall pretty cool production, not really my style but its a pretty dope track overall.

@ sprayyypaint.. I'm really feeling this so far.. just needs some eq work. Sounds like there is no midrange at all.. you have a killer sub (reminds me of some sort of a simple ghettotech line), and you have ill automation on your MRB but I think you need to make it stand out more =)
WIP - Feedback would be appreciated

@ FluidMotion. Loved the whole feel of your tune. Real chill. The intro especialy..
That's something I struggle with. Great track.

@ carmen_ the sample work was pretty nice. also liked the sound of the drums. Kinda played out on the YI YI YI
sound though. None the less, sounding pretty good.

& Skaven. Nice tune, I agree a MC would be sick on it.

Alight here's my tune.. This is the first time I've ever attemted 'filth' style basslines.

@infested pasta : Insane for your first full track .. great levels and clarity .. progressions .. keep it up !

@sprayyypaint : love the heavy verb on the bass ! .. clean layers, just a bit more eq'ing.. nasty track so far !

@ Dwel : lots of potential here ! .. the kick needs a bit more compression, gain down a little bit, maybe -9db on the channel. The mid bass needs some eq'ing... cut out the 500hz , add a bit of 1-2khz for a sharper philthy sound, and maybe some WOW, or Phat vst fx ..
The samples made me smile btw heheh

************* My first Dubstep tune ( with some drum n bass in this one ) ... I've been producing psytrance under the alias "dragon" for 6+ years and started getting the dubstep fever this year ... It's got a bit more cleaning up and more layers to go but here's where I'm at so far ~
( Thanks for Listening ! )

@predetor - loving your tune! clearly you have done this before.. how long have you been producing Dubstep? (I would make the tempo change drastic and notgradual, but maybe that's me?) anyways its really cool.

@gongo - really nice beat, all along there. but speaking of elements - I would add something to the part in 0:57 forward...also I love the stereo spread.
eemmm... acually i'm not really into all that minimal movement (currently really digging the filth) so on second thought i'm not sure if you do need to add anything... anyways, consider it :)

@dwel - it IS filthy :) .. wierd part on 0:42 .. there are many times you completly killed the beat and left only the samples, I think you should leave *something* in there to keep people from not losing the beat, cuz i suppose its pretty heard to dance to... also, the samples are cool, but i think you are over-using them and *counting* on them to save you from making interesting buildups in your tune. I suggest you decrease the use of them and make youe melody more full...
Cheers mate, and good luck!

here's a tune i'm working on... i'm not sure how to give the chorus more energy so i made 2 of them, I would like to hear what you guys think about both of them... and about everything in general..

@infestedpasta:
good stuff man! i'd make the kick stand out more and add some more variety, not just the bitcrushed synth for the entire track, but other synths coming in and out as well. clean sounds tho, really nice!

@sirminus (the WIP in ur sig)
it's good, but the synth is coming off too strong and kinda takes over. lower the volume on it by a few db, and ur good to go! liking the track but like i said, the main synth that comes in at the drop is a little too loud.

@predator aka dragon
what u got so far is really good and in terms of track progression and switch ups, i'm really impressed. i think u can do a bit more work on the drums though, ur kick is a little too punchy and ur snare feels like it has too much reverb on it and it comes out soft. that's something u can probably finish up within an hour though :) good stuff :D

@Thuun
damn! propa! no feedback on this one from me, really, u know what ur doing and ur doing it well! sick tune!

@Debaser!
TUNE! sick bass, man!!! ur onto something here, keep this up! gotta say, im lovin ur drums! WOO! :D

here's mine:

mars-after that pause at 13 seconds you should change the high hats up maybe? i dunno, track sounds pretty sweet to me. the sample seems a little weird going with the tune to me. those are some pretty dope sounds though.

cheeky-the drop was EXTREMELY anti-climactic. play with the faders :) everything else seems alright just keep building from it.

dwell-you use abelton huh? i feel like i can just tell by how it sounds haha. the kick is wayyy loud man.also the song has no force behind it, it seems a little flat or something.

here i updated my shit. i wanna add words but im still looking for the right sample. i also think i gave the mids more juice???

@Fatach i like it mate, im not too sure on that really high pitched noise, but thats just my opinion like, and as for the chorus i think maybe u cud do a bit more of a defined build up on the first one, as for the second drop i really like it, especially that melody that goes on top of it, n maybe layer abit more drums, like changin the snare up abit through the track.

@mars oh my dayss! lol, thats some dirty sounds u got goin on, propper like this tune mate, specially the 2nd drop, i like the drums aswell, nice n simple. all i gotta say really is just add a lil intro n that tracks sick. big up

@cheeky intros abit long really for my liking, but still keeps u guessin what the drops gonna be like, id maybe turn the reverb down a tad on that snare, n i like how u change the main part up halfway through, maybe try doing that abit more throughout the drop, to keep you hooked on you know.

heres my new kinda more chilled track, deep sub bass, but let me know what u all think yea, needin some feedback on it, kinda stuck at the moment,

@infestedpasta - loved the intro felt like an 8bit megadrive racecar was whizzing thru my head :) loving the formant bass as well could do with a bit of variaion now and again a few glass smashes etc to liven it up if you wnat to go in that direction anyway. so far so good !!!!!

@sirminus - sickest wip ive heard in a while i wouldnt change much tbh maybe just a fatter snare in there. the intro is class and the bass is wicked fits the melody well. i need a 320 of the completed :) that is all :D

@Dwel - wicked tune proper head bopper this mate. i love the bass and the vox samples are sick with the effects and that!! the scratch sample works well too. it has its own touch of humour which i like from some tunes too great stuff

heres mine im aware it needs a bot of work and im planning to add a lot more stuff to it with effects maybe a vox in there basically this is the skeleton of the track so any feedback would be great :m:

I'll post feedback soon (as I always do)

In the meantime you can check my remix of deadline. I made this remix before I even knew Dj Madd also reworked this. Talking about a coincidence. :) Hope you'll like it.

@Voodeedoo, A nice pop song. There's not much to say about this track. Could easily fit into a commercial.
@Geeza, You have a "Skream- Wibbler" formula going on. Sounds pretty good, but I think to make the drums in the mix louder. Like you said you are still planning to add effects and probably mix everything down once the track is done. Good track.
@Goldorak, Great track! Everything transitioned well. I don't have anything to critique about it.

Any tips/critique about my track? I know the first part is out of tempo.

@dj nation - like the bass and percussion. i think the song needs something moar though; not sure what.
@ sprayyypaint - there seems to be a bit much reverb, also i think the drums could use more presence. love the wobbles
@mars - lovin it! i think the wobbles could be more dynamic, but the INYOURFACE-ness is certainly there ^^
@goldorak - very cool, i like the looping synth. like hendrix said, there's not much to critique
@hendric126 - i like the drums; i think the synth could use some more presence though
@Geeza - so far so good, not sure what you've got planned with it though. i think the beginning needs a little more going on though

this is my second attempt at a dubstep song; the first i made almost a year ago. just trying to flex different muscles synth wise.
