Cpu issues..

Post by Dwel » Wed Dec 22, 2010 6:57 am

When I load certain synths my computer starts lagging like fuck.. Also, when I have alot of instances of massive going, towards the end of a tune im working on. When there is alot going on, the DAW starts to lag like fuck.. Anyone know of any solutions to this?

bounce=export your tracks as audio so you dont use all your CPU to process effects

Bounce means that you render a particular aspect of your track, in this case Massive, to audio and reimport it back into the track. This means you have the sound that Massive generated, but without the need to have Massive open to generate it. This will free up processing power for your DAW as Massive is no longer draining it. The downside is that because you have created a 'finalised' version of the sound that Massive generated, you can't change any Massive parameters.

One if your computer isnt dual core and has less than 2GB ram your computer will be slow running and new DAWS, and high cpu plug ins. Also are you running a torrent DAW? as i know most torrent cracked versions are buggy and glitchy.
Any feedback on my songs will be returned

You really don't need a 3 grand pc for a decent workstation. Thats not cost effective either, because it will all be obsolete in 5 years anyway.
The region of 600-800 is the sweet spot.

Back to the original point. If you could give us a rough idea of your set up (Which DAW, Computer specs, rough number of synths + effects) then I might be able to give you a hand on the hardware side of things.
