DMZ and Digital Downloads
Maybe this has been asked before...
When, if ever, will the DMZ releases get the CD/downloadable treatment? Deep Medi has, but the back cat of DMZ really needs to be avail via download by now.

Re: DMZ and Digital Downloads
Highly doubtful
Mala said the only reason Medi went digital is because artists on the label requested it, I dont think DMZ needs digital files

I'm sure I heard on an interview Deep Medi only got digital releases because the other artists wanted their releases available digitaly.
However as he plays only vinyl DMZ is going to remain a vinyl only label.

Re: DMZ and Digital Downloads
DMZ briefly had all of it's back catalogue up for download on beatport but they weren't up for long so they clearly had a rethink and it's vinyl only now. think they had dmz001-008 up at the time which a lucky few were able to download high quality versions of legally

Re: DMZ and Digital Downloads
Its gotta be against the DMZ grain right? They dubplate warriors so would seem obvious they wouldn't wanna offer their tracks out on Digi. Its not like they need the sales I guess!

It does but if you werent lucky enough to be buying dubstep records when all the earlier DMZ releases came out, its hard to get one without pay alot of money for it plus it will have been used.slanguage wrote:nah...i like it how it is tbh...adds a 'special' quality to the records...
I'm not bothered about digital, I just wish Mala would repress Mud, Blue Notez and obviously Anti War Dub

I'll sell you my Anti ;P This will make you laff! I dropped my iron on DMZ 01 (white label) years ago and one of my mates had bought two copies so I managed to get a replacement! Thank god!sc0tty wrote:It does but if you werent lucky enough to be buying dubstep records when all the earlier DMZ releases came out, its hard to get one without pay alot of money for it plus it will have been used.slanguage wrote:nah...i like it how it is tbh...adds a 'special' quality to the records...

Re: DMZ and Digital Downloads
yeah, coki said he didnt want his tunes out digitally because it makes them more accessible which he didn't think was a good thing, or something along those lines.

I agree and if I had the above records I wouldnt want him to repress them either. But as I dont I really want them repressed so I can get my own brand new copy rather than buying used. I dont really mind paying alot of money for a track I just dont like buying used vinyl, I want my records to be mine an used by only me if you know what I mean, especially with classics.dj $hy wrote:I'll sell you my Anti ;P This will make you laff! Exactly, and I guarantee he sold double the amount of anyone in the scene that would release digi.oscarhenson wrote:yeah, coki said he didnt want his tunes out digitally because it makes them more accessible which he didn't think was a good thing, or something along those lines.
If you are a digital DJ, you will never be able to play these tracks, if you don't have a turntable you will never be able to listen to them in high quality.
I keep an eye on leaks, if Coki's album was coming out on digital, it would've been leaked about 2 weeks before release date, and posted on every forum, blog and flie sharing website imaginable, and anyone could access it within minutes. With Coki it took about a week before a vinyl rip was even floating about, because it's never gonna sound anywhere near as good as the actual release, and all the real fans were too busy absolute smashing the vinyl to even think about ripping it.
Probably one of the last artists to do that in any genre, and it's a credit to him and all the real fans that bought the vinyl.

Being a boy in Canada, I'd love for some labels to send some records overseas to the stores here! Until then, Boomkat is my bff.
I'm too late in the game, did the Mystikz ever drop a full length? Singles here, EP's there, it's a tad overwhelming, it would be a bit easier just to start on a full length.
The shitty thing is that I get all my tunes from ripping them off youtube. *sigh

I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone
						Re: DMZ and Digital Downloads
talk to you local shops they should be able to order anything that gets released.
dmz has 2 LPs out, one by Mala "Return II Space" & one by Coki "Urban Ethics" you should still be able to order both of them. they both, however, are under the Digital Mystikz name. (these are easy to find)
try redeye records or chemical records for much better shipping rates then boomkat fwiw...
