Alexvont12, thought it had a nice chill vibe. where to go with it? honestly, idk. lol i have brick wall syndrome too so im not good at figuring out where to go next. great track so far though ;)

InfestedPasta, first off, welcome to DSF! i think you have a great base track going so far. the intro is nice, not sure what more to add there. i think you need to layer a subbass under your wobble. good job variating the bass LFO. keeps it from getting boring ;)

Predator, sick track! diggin those bass patches! what VST do you use for them? totally wasnt expecting that tempo change! sick tune anyway!

Heres a little something i came up with tonight. still needs much work but this is as far as i got

@weedcali - Thanks for the feed man.. Lovin' the wobble on your track, Also the higher ones at the end are an epic intro for a breakdown.. Keep it up!

@ weedcali

thanks man ! .. I'm using primarily Massive for most of those ... it's my first dubstep track so I figured I'd try to throw a bunch of variety into the first track to get a feel for the production style. As far as the patches, I started digging on youtube for massive tutorials to learn how to really use that monster vst .. IMO, it's probably the best VST for dubstep mid bass .. so much control !
I hope to finish it up in the next couple of weeks, so I'll be sure to repost the final bounce .. Thanks for listening !

@weedcali, the 2step tune is sounding ok so far with a nice shuffle to it. But the bass sounds muffled and the snare could be crisper.

@ weedcali - ur bass tone is cool sounding. i think it needs a bit more structure with the arrangment pattern ect. but in all you have a good track starting out!

@ predatordub - you got a pretty sweet track setup so far, nice mixture of basses and they all flow together pretty well. keep it up! maybe turn up your kicks a bit more

heres 2 tunes of mine ive been workin on recently. target is becoming a potential collab with the showdown but 24oz i tried to go for some jakes style shieet. biggups

@Solpick - just highlight your link and press the soundcloud button... Love the dark bassy feel to your tune... Could use some more hit-hats after 1.08 to even it out more though... Nice work :W:
@Pillija - Feeling the bass but it just feels a bit empty. Has potential :Q:
@weedcali (2-steppy track) - The bass definitely needs work.. Not enough mids.. And I don't like the second clap in the intro. Sounding nice, bro. :m:

Here's mine - Finally got something going with it...

Unfortunately, I'm at the office again with no streaming audio. I always give feedback though, check back a few pages and you'll see. I promise to give feedback on at least three tracks this evening when I'm back in the production pit AKA the lowpass lair.
And if I get feedback from you, you're likely to be one of the peeps receiving it back. So, anyways, here's this:

Its not exactly dubstep. More Drumstep/DnB or whatever. And its just a drop or whatever, haven't gotten around to any intro/trannies/breakdowns/etc. So, judge it for what it is...

Thanks in advance ya'll

Pillija - retardedly good wobble writing!!! I say
1: try adding a reverbed clap cause the snare sounds kinda dry. also maybe layer up the bass drum if it would make it sound better (though the minimal bassdrum in this track a la Cookie Monsta - R0B07 D06 sounds cool)
2: make one of the oscilators in the wobble (assuming its more than 1) jump up an down octaves for added interest

Alex vont - the mixing and drums are all there but i would suggest rewriting the piano/bass, carefully considering which chords will be implied. Maybe useing more than 1 piano note at a time could make it more interesting

Grime Syndicate - Definately solid writing but whats with the panning? its fuckin with my head. also there are little to no mids at all. at very least kick & snare should be mono

Alright heres today's work :m:

What is doing the panning? Because, I haven't done any panning automation at all... (I threw Izotope Ozone on there and maxed out the stereo widening on the high freq's... wondering if this is what you're hearing... I also have Audio Damage's Ronin on my breaks channel, set to "air for the drum bus" patch, but the wet is on a really low setting.) and, yeah, i left the mids wide open for some other elements that haven't yet made their way into the track yet, so that much was intentional. (thinking of a capleton acapella actually) So, yeah, what element is panning strangely? I can't hear it

@cheeky: track seems like its set up pretty nicely, synth sounds extremely generic though... needs some hype!

@thefrim: holy crap man, that shit is fucken badass... can not wait to hear what you do with it :e:

here's a new track i'm working on, feedback would be sweet

this is my first post, so i figure no better place than here.

@thefrim - i like the use of samples and the cuts in the bass with the little 'strike' sound, gives it good body and mixes it up. as well as the vocal glitch, you should look into making it more complex
@grime syndicate - that sounds sick, keeps the beat pumping the whole way through. sounds a little lacking in tone, but it's just an in progress so i'm sure you'l beefen it up
@alexvont12 - it flows so well and it's so smooth, maybe try to break it up a bit in the kick/snare pattern just to make it interesting?

anyways, this is my first attempt at a dubstep track. i have experience with music and composition, i'm in a national touring band, this is just cause i was interested in what went into dubstep. everything was done in reason with an akai mpd 16 and an m audio oxygen 8. i know, mad old hardware, used it for sampling in my old grindcore band. if you have any suggestions please let me know!

@thefrim: My god man... NICE! I have no great crit, you are beyond my skills. I'm taking notes in fact. The highest praises...

@rickyshatw: What's there is really nice. Some really nice elements. Really liking the switchup from 1:12 on, but it's still got some room to grow. Keep at this one, its got major potential. Felt a bit like a long long intro though, just my two cents...

@pillija: What's there is great, but it needs quite a bit more variation to hold my attention. Keep the listener interested with some script flippas....

Thanks for the feedback ya'll... i'll definitely be taking it into account. Peace an grease

@Grime Syndicate - Wicked Vibe, good riff. Drums need to be more upfront and dryer. Im always skeptical of overall widening on the master with any freqs, I say keep the kick and the low punch of the snare mono, Place each element individualy withing the stereo spectrum.

Pillija, love the bass. something to try though, make the hihats hit on the wobble notes. you know how the hihats dont change their pattern much, try and make them follow the speed of the wobbles. maybe add a second one in the background or something. so far i like it ;)

word, i'll give that a shot. Rhek, you have any preferred stereo widening tools that aren't too cpu taxing? I'm on ableton, so, what? utility? or what plugs would you recommend? or, conversely, would you recommend widening things manually, by running two instances of whatever element, and adding slightly different delays to either channel... my fear with this is just taxing the fuck outta my cpu. I try to avoid bouncing whenever possible cuz, well, I'm always going back and tweaking shit...
