I don't even really use massive, but I did spot a preset on an 8bit synth that I swear Quarta 330 uses
quarta 330 actually uses a gameboy

quarta 330 actually uses a LOT of stuff
word would love to see his kit list. only seen one vid of him live with a gameboy and i think some pedals

the 9 Samurai remix was done all on a Gameboy, but he produces a really diverse range of sounds using loads of different things...definitely a guy who is just into experimenting and making music with a bunch of different gear

I think it's a matter of taste and context. Everytime i've heard brutal electro 2, it's always been the main focus of whatever track it's used in. Kinda lame if the showcase of your tune is a patch someone else spent a bit of time designing. I've seen one producer actually go above and beyond and edit it around. More as a poke to the rest lifting it straight from the source untouched I would assume.

If someone tried to impress me by playing Saxon on a guitar I would punch them in the fucking head.
i fell over laughing at this

i had a buddy come over all excited because he learned to riff to Running - Chase&Status on the guitar
my reaction was something along the lines of "Great ... want a cookie??"

All that matters is the song itself... doesn't matter what instruments (or presets) were used to make it as long as it's good imo.

I bet there are thousands of "producers" with amazing presets that cant do a decent tune.

Also one of the tunes on the album is a nicked riff from "streets of rage 2" for the sega megadrive

If something sounds good theres no need to change it
Yeah. I'd maybe try to avoid making a habit of it but once in a while... Who cares. I mean what's the point of editing a patch away from what you want just because it's a preset and makes you feel guilty deep in the night?
