Loads of my mixes I find searching the barefiles. It's what got me into dubstep properly!
Too bad it's kind of dead nowadays. Lots of respect, and too bad the rinse sets aren't up any longer :s

so much respect for Deaps. The guy acheived so much for the scene at such a young age, which is more then we can say for some of the youngsters today let alone on this board. Hard graft and passion are two words i feel are synonymous with Deapoh.

Deap's (IMO) launched Dubstep world wide with Bare files! At that point in time there was no other way to get Dubstep apart from when some kind soul recorded the shows and did send space links!

Also I have a deap's look-a-like in my home town lol! Deaps knows!

I found so many mixes on Barefiles that opened Dubstep up to me. Big ups to Deapoh! (Braiden mix for Barefiles is still one of my favourite mixes of all time). Still need to get hold of that Kromestar release on Baredubs too.

Was that the mix with 'Nine Samurai' into 'Way of the dub' into 'What' into some tune with Roots Manuva into 'Strength' into 'Haunted'?

If so I would really like to know the name of the first track of the mix if anyone knows what Im talking about

Yeah it was. The first tune is Immortal by Amit. Don't think it ever got released though.

I think 9 Samurai was mixed into a BoC tune as well. Pure genius.

Nice one Dutty switch. I love the way 'Strength' goes into 'Haunted', Haunted starting in a awkward place so that that both tunes drop. Also when 'Nine Samurai' drops with the gun fire of "Way of the dub' !

Yeah mate, for sure. I love the mix he does from Lightning into Midnight Request Line as well, where he keeps bringing it back in and out. Also Root into Buck & bury into South London Boroughs.

EDIT: Found it! I was looking for it as a single but it was lurking on one of his albums. Think I'll be getting a copy of that.

this is the first thread on barefiles when it opened for business. march 2006. now as we're approaching 2011, it deserves to be bumped purely for the reason that, this sound and this community owe a lot to deapoh and barefile's influence. in a large measure, deapoh is responsible for pushing it global, and making the music easy to find.

Barefiles and DSF were the first places I found dubstep. Barefiles was the motherlode. One of my favorite moments in the last few years was getting asked to do an exclusive set for Barefiles. Been wondering where dude got up to though. *scratches head*

Mad props to Deaps and to DSF for all the great music in the last few years. Much love.
