well to an extent, you could be curious about something, once you find it perhaps you dont feel curious enough to persue more.
when im presented with things like that, its a taboo subject even in my own head, part of me wants to click the link (who knows why, human nature to be curious about things you arent used to i presume) the other half says no, you know its going to be horrible so why click it.
sometimes curiosity overtakes the reluctancy

I don't see a taboo in it. I just don't enjoy it. I also don't like watching shit people have filmed like that. Just the idea of people killing someone on tape just for notoriety or for others to get off on it. I don't want to be part of it.

but you can understand that jus because you watch it it doesnt mean you're getting off on it right?
think about all those 2 girls 1 cup reactions, the amount of people that continue to watch it rather than turning it off, doesnt mean that they are finding it in any way arousing

Sometimes I look at or am shown stuff like that. I'm not always disgusted by it, but I usually feel extremely guilty and dirty for looking at it. Every now and then you see something that really turns your stomach and makes you question your sanity.
A Serbian Film wasn't too bad, bar the baby scene. That had me wincing with my hands over my face and my toes curling.
Stuff like that is like downing a yard of beer. It's not pleasant, you just do it to see if you can.
The more I see, the less I like humans. We are a truly disgusting species.

I don't think that was his point, or at least not entirely...points of view like yours validate the actions of the people who produce these sorts of videos and give them more reason to do what they do.
Hell, just by talking about this shit you probably got a few people to check out the videos mentioned in this thread.
See, svpreme grasped my point, yet you failed utterly and took it as a personal attack of your sex life (no homo)

I think it's more than curiosity if you keep going back for more, which is the impression I've got from people in here.

Why compare a serbian film to snuff? It's not real

I didn't realise this thread was just about snuff, I thought it was gore for entertainment in general. A Serbian Film is about snuff so it has some pertinence.
I think that saying it's a film is a bit of a cop out. Even though it's not real, you're still actively choosing to watch images of people being tortured etc. You want to see that.

@ Wolf:
Yes and no. I didn't say that everyone who watches films like that wants to kill someone. I said that they watch it to see those images.
When you decide to play GTA, you've decided you want to see a few hours worth of chaos in a consequence free environment. It's how some people want to act, but know they can't.
Look how many gore films come out of the film industry and how many people just lap it up. It's all based around the closest you can get to doing these things without actually doing them, and people love it.

Dunno about that. Good 80% of my DVDs are horror movies (rest are pretty violent too) and I don't think it's about wanting to kill people or any involvement in real death

BLAHBLAHJAH wrote:Not particularly. About ten years ago I got Tom Savini's books "grande illusions" (Well worth checking wolf if ya not read them!) imported from the US to learn how he did all the gory effects etc. Makes it into a completely different situation knowing that, kind of an art to watch with the mind linking the 'gory scenes' more to the film's expression than acts of violence in amongst the real population. Would you compare wanking off to some average shitty porn to crawling into your nieghbours garden and wanking off as you peep at them shagging etcccccccccccc
All about reinforcement, no need to treat the mind so naively
I agree with what you're saying about movies (and i'm going to buy those books now.

They are for you. Tons of people watch horror films for the gore and the twisted side of it. Tons of people watch films like that on their own. I doubt many people went to watch something like Saw or The Human Centipede for the bits inbetween. (Maybe for the centipede lololol)

i took at as a personal attack because you called me a perverted little skidmark, as if i get off from watching something like that
i dont see how you wouldnt call that an insult, maybe it is perverted that i watched it, but thats still a vulgar accusation?
i can see where youre coming from with the idea of snuff movies being alot different in context, but i didnt watch 2 guys one hammer alone, a lot of the time its people who will show you this stuff, or atleast link it to you
i think the difference is in those who go out in search for videos like that, and those who come across it, then its more of a suggestion to watch it rather than an inclination to watch it

Just sounds like you're trying to dig yourself out of a hole. You choose to watch it. The blame's on you. You can't really shift it to anyone else. If you're with people and they go "Hey, watch this", you can always leave the room, say no or shut your eyes. You choose to stay and watch it.

It is just a different context. Just like the child porn argument is invalid, so is this one.

Yeah, but when I watch them I'm enjoying the creativity of the film. I just happen to enjoy horror specifically. Got no relation to real life. Real suffering isn't entertaining
I really hate the idea people have of you if you're into horror properly. (I don't help matters by wearing a Texas chainsaw massacre t shirt often when I'm out though.)
