to produce rap: i resample stuff off vinyls got lying around, or mums old shit i kept and i cut it up into like impossibly small slices like 1 hits n all dat (do dis in soundforge 7) den go into fruity 9 load it all up the loops and one hits find the "g-note" i call it where its at its perfect pitch, den i clock melodies and any bassline/chord progressions and play dem in my own instruments i put all 1 hits in one channel in fl and compress, bassboost etc. and put loops in another fx channel and bassboost by either 60khz or 38, den just do simple sub bass pattern make verse, chorus etc. and usually throw in a nice movie sample

to produce grime: just load up any synth ive made n play any series of notes lol and den go from der but its generally same method as rap stuff

to produce dubstep (ambient): sample weird sounds n music/movie fx, den do like an unsual drum pattern or resample a soul/amen break at 140ish and add plenty of homemade crackles/acapella cuts (got a folder of like 500 homemade acapella one notes and one lines) and have a nice pumpy sub bass in der try to variate drum pattern to stop shit soundin borin

to produce loud dubstep: generally same as rap i rarely start wid a bassline or drums its usually always a weird synth or reggae piano im playin wid dat turns out dubstep somehow :S i can start some rnb tune and i'll start addin dubstep type drums n it ends up as a wobbler aha

intresting thread indeed...

dont know how anyone can produce on the toilet doe... ive had some long shits but jheez u man must have been in der for weeks...

LA_Boxers wrote:Find a generic pop song (preferably La Roux)
Increase/decrease bpm to 140
filter out the original drums/snare/bass
add a kick on the 1st and snare on the 3rd
add some WAWAWAWABLURGHBLURGHBLURGHWOBWOBWOB mid range, transformer noises and minimal sub bass.

Cha-Ching. Youre a full blown DUB step producer.

One day, I wanna try this just to see if it is that easy.
