A native of Portland, ME and seasoned inhabitant of Boston, MA and New York, NY, the “New England sub assassin” and “New York City dubstep pioneer” (thekronicle.com, 3/3/10) is known far and wide for his mind-bending DJ sets and deep, dark, thoughtful bass music productions. A “veteran of American dubstep” (flavorwire.com, 4/19/10), Moldy has been at the forefront of the US dubstep movement since its inception, sharing the stage with bass music innovators including The Bomb Squad, Skream, Plastician, Mala, Loefah, Pinch, Distance, Starkey, N-Type, Breakage, Digital, Dara, Dieselboy, Headhunter, Joe Nice and Dave Q.
Moldy founded Heavy Pressure Recordings in 2006. His latest release on the label, Pegasus, a dubstep/rap hybrid featuring MC Dynamo-P, is praised by Big Up Magazine as “bass music at it's finest, in all its restrained, bleak glory,” and is available now via all major digital outlets.
“He is in demand around the world,” (renegademag.com, 10/1/09) traveling to perform in cities including London, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Hartford; “but still gives Portland, Maine the privilege of the best in dubstep,” (renegademag.com, 10/1/09) organizing the city’s original dubstep party, Heavy Pressure Night, since 2008.
