Using filters outside of Massive

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to the Dubstep scene, but I have been making electro for a while so I'm not a newb to music production. I was just wondering how everyone uses filters when they make dubstep. When I make music, I prefer to use Ableton's Auto Filter or EQ8, and with creating a wobble, I will use the Autofilter LFO. Just out of curiouslity, is there an advantage that DS producers find to using Massive's filter LFO other than the different Filter circuits it has inside, or does everyone use other VST's for their filter LFO? Just curious to see how others work.

I got my hands on FabFilters for Ableton because I felt the standard one's that came with it just weren't cutting it for me.
Never used Massive's filters, infact I never used Massive at all at this point.
Just sort of sits there and gathers cyberdust really!

You should really start to use Massive man. You can get some amazingly filthy sounds with it. The filters are great too, I just find it easier to use ableton's filters.

Definitely use whatevers easiest for you. For me the advantage of the Massive LFO's are more the stepper and the performer. I find i can get some nice variation of the wobbles without having to mess about with the automation. It's so nice to have something wobbling with a groove without spending hours on automating it, but im just lazy like that

It probably has better filters than Abe, but it's a CPU whore and most my projects take up over 50% of mine during a session.
Can't allow plugins to take up more juice.

Also I make basslines with Operator, say no to Massive!

By using massive you can get more control over the shape of the LFO. It has something like 20 waveforms you can set it to. Its also useful having your filter LFO modulate things like wavetable position and intensity that you want in sync with your filter LFO.
