Really suprised that this thread turned out to be a pissing contest. Just out of curiousity: DJ Shy, what would you say are some of your favorite dubstep tracks from 99?
I wonder if people who diss die antwoord understand the fact that it's a satire group? Maybe you just need to understand zef culture to get the joke, I dunno...

And that makes the group's music good? Die Antwoord is shit. The only good tune they put out is the tune produced by Diplo.
And to the OP, well,... That Pinch tune is what i call a tune that has substance. Like someone pointed, this track makes a certain type of crowd go wild. It has SUBSTANCE and BASS. I don't think you know what you're talking about at all. Trying to talk about music, when in fact it seems like the music doesn't go through your brain... Kinda like you just hear music, not listening to it and understand it. That "Dr. Sin" tune by Chasing Shadows is not that bad though

LMFAO about how the trolling OP describes the music they're after. Its quite poetic.
Except just stop saying "slow" unless you're talking about TEMPO. If you mean low energy, say low energy.
"I just need my crowd's brains to explode all over my woofers, y'know?? " XD this troll's looking to get sig'd

lets change the genre to hip hop,
so they OP makes a thread about why there are so many songs that have no substance,
he compares a gangstarr track & a lil wayne track, pretty much says that tracks like gangstarrs have no substance & will put ya to sleep & he wants more bubblegum hip hop that will make ya head explode.
If he wanted some hard hitting dubstep tracks to play in his sets... he could have just said that.
& this cat is supposed to be a DJ? yet he can't source tracks himself.
I love all the musical styles, & each has its own time & place...
but tha OP is just a bunch of cack.

imho it makes them enjoyable to those who like that type of humor. i dropped rich bitch at a house party last year and it got rewound twice, to each their own though. you'd be hard pressed to find a post where i called someone else's choice of music "shit", but then (again) to each their own.
diplo? lol... can't say to each their own enough!!!

You know, this is my type of humour; really. But they better do comedy than music imho. Cause i find their music is "not good" (if you prefer this than "shit"

).
About Diplo, i don't like the vast majority of the tunes he dropped these last 5 years (he can hardly do better than the remix he did on Nephlim Modulation System's first album, or "Diplo Rhythm"), but i like the production on "Evil Boy".

been involved in dubstep in the states since 2005, and the way I see it, Die Antwoord is a pretty amazing soundtrack to district 9, if you put the movie on mute.
also feeling the kwaito vibes, but really... who isn't.

Short answer: any perceived lack of substance is largely because some people haven't got an ear for subtlety. If you want a drop which makes your "skull wanna explode" then fair does, but not everyone needs so much hype in a tune.

locking this thread, once again we're reading the same arguments over & over and I for one am sick of it.
@ thread starter, consider something - you wrote this n your first post:
DJSmileys wrote:See and this ones even got a long intro, but its amazing! it build up and then when it drops,it implodes people brains to another dimension! Thats what dubstep is all about!!!!
No. No no no no no.
That is NOT what dubstep is all about!!!! In fact it is many things to many people - this is one of the reasons you have raised some hackles.
What you
actually wanted was for people to post more tunes that "implodes people brains" - but that thread we get several times every fucking week if you care to look for it.
