It's really for the novelty factor to be honest, and it gives me a good laugh. I wish I could ask 16bit to make sure, but I like to think that they made this track just to say "oh yeah, you're track sounds like chainsaws and filth... Well, uh, we have song that is chainsaws and filth."

Re: Let's get to some common ground
I am maybe ever so slightly to the deeper side.
Heavier artists I like that I can think of at the moment
Coki, Jakes, Subscape, emalkay, the others
There is plenty more.

Hey how is it going Dubsteppas i was wondering if i take on the apprenticeship of any veteran in the feild of mixin dubstep cause i need help. I already have massive and fl studio. However I will admit they are both the demo versions. I cant afford equipment and software at this moment so I wanted to get a head start before I buy the program. Im really into dubstep and I have a lot of more ideas as well for music in the electronica genre. Thanks

i especially like it when the producers are able to make great songs on completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

Re: Let's get to some common ground
I have an eclectic taste. I stray a bit more toward the deeper end of the spectrum. I love Phaeleh, Synkro, Jus Wan, DJG, 2562. However, I still love good aggy dubstep in moderation. I am really feeling Kromestar - Jabber Jawz, Emalkay - Fabrication, Mensah - Lick of ya head, Brian Badonde, Eddie K - Warning refix, Flux Pavillion - Meathead (one and only Flux tune that I actually love), 16 Bit - In the Death Car, much of the older Datsik before Doctor P changed the game with that high pitched noise that drives me up the wall. I LOVE Stagga, damn near all his stuff, and same goes for Monkey. I also have quite the affinity for Sukh Knight, Beezy, Noisia, DZ, Antiserum, Babylon System, Rob Sparx, Itchy Robot, older Bar 9, and tons more. Also I can't really say that I dig Excision's bangers, but I have mad respect for him because he can produce a beautiful deep tune like That Girl. I also would love if 16bit produced/released some more deeper stuff. Shallow is stunning.

That's what I always liked about 16bit. ASDL and Tale of the Exploding fist are on opposite sides of the spectrum.section 8 wrote:i especially like it when the producers are able to make great songs on completely opposite ends of the spectrum.]
Staley- I'll check out that Flux tune because everything else I've heard by him makes me cringe.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned their quiet love for Stenchman yet.

All about the Jakes remix really!Mints wrote:I'm gonna do it!

I've been digging lots of Flux Pavilion lately.
got 2 know/haunt you/hold me close/etc all got good groove, tearout stuff but fun and not overly aggressive
Funtcase - So Vexd / Mattress Punch is a sick release! (it's total Coki business, but whateva!) his Ho Riddim Remix is pretty fukd as well.
Subscape's stuff is pretty cool too, he's got a good balance in songs like; All Day, Just Coz, Mr Kipling, and of course Screw Up
Re: Let's get to some common ground
proper nice topic
i spin (and produce) across the spectrum, so I don't really have a "guilty pleasure" exactly. but when i play tearout stuff, i still try to keep it somewhat melodic, avoiding the film sample laden, atonal ultra-filth... with the exception of this one
Soundcloud
and, on the other side, I've definitely ended up sitting in the green room at shows before or after my set, blasting Burial in my headphones while the other DJs bludgeon the crowd with an endless wave of tearout stuff.

Re: Let's get to some common ground
The Dubstep Alience is misunderstood,
it's not tearout per se being object to,
after all we were the first to get off to Caspa's big-drop wobblez,
it's crass, relentless noise without space that I experience as shit.

No need for trolling on this thread. Actually good vibes for a change!!Acre wrote:"i love moshing with other men, with no shirts on, sweating to flux pavillion or whatever"
Im pretty much in the middle anyways. But my guilty pleasures are Bare and Hoax. A little bit more robotic and chainsawry than my usual listening/playing out material.
My sets usually have everything for Falty DL to Trolley Snatcha to Jack Sparrow to Subscape.

IMHO the best way to make something sound heavy is to play it after something deep. There needs to be a thread of something that will hold the oposing tunes together. Or joining the dots as Giles Peterson would say.
It's the way you play a tune and I think people, espescialy our friends across the pond seem to be guilty of this, go on a quest for the most hardcore/Bangin/Tearout/Gnarly/Grimey/Nasty sounding tunes because they start from an already hard sound. What I'm saying is that there is a time and a place for all music. A carefully placed tearout tune incorperated into a deep set can take the roof of right and vice verca...

Re: Let's get to some common ground
heard this tune on a droid sector mix in the summer....
The clip has the end of another tune before it goes into the one im trying to point out....
No Thing remix of a DZ tune.....
it has serious sub but is more tear out in style, dope tune...
plz give it a listen, it has had the least amount of views on my youtube
nice thread! I dont think the style of dubstep matters as long as the producers are talented, considered and put effort into the osund quaility
