I have a question. Does anyone remember how on FL8 and older you could swap the panels in the playlist? like for example, the automation clip area would be on bottom rather than on top. you use to be able to go into the view menu and select swap panels but im not seeing it anywhere on FL9 :(

Quick question. I'm using a paid version of 9 something. I recently bought the newtone/ pitcher ( which is amazing btw) but so far u can only use them in the beta until the officials released. Which means I had to install the beta too. I've had prOblems with crashing during export all the sudden. Could this be happening because I have a beta also installed. ?? To clarify I'm using the official release but the beta but is installed on this computer also. I suppose I can just delete the beta to see if it helps ?

This is making me want to fire up my hardware this can be very frustrating.

happens to me sometimes. It must be something that you have overlooked. You have to retrace you steps from the source (vst synth or sampler,etc...) to the mixer track, to the master out. It could also be some old automation that is retriggered when you go to the beginning of the loop or song. You should go to the browser and look in your project`s history to see which controls you have initialized.

Sorry to bother but does anyone know where I can find tutorials on FL Studio 9? And is it worth diving in and buying the pitcher bundle now?

Hate to be picky but I rather prefer written tutorials with a few images, they tend to be more specific and allow me to work through at my own pace and allow me to experiment. Videos tend to be linear, however I will look into it much more thoroughly before saying anymore.

Thanks :)

as ive only just moved to FL, alot of my stuff is experimental...seeing what button does what and so forth.
whats really annoying me at the moment is if click a button and it fucks my tune up, i obviously go for the CTRL+Z...but it never undo's it.
im aware its something to do with the history thing but i can never get it to undo anything except maybe steps or patterns ive put in the piano roll.

for instance, ive just used the slicing tool in the pattern sequencer thinking it would slice the end off a block i had...but its ended up slicing my drums into midi notes. lol.
ive got the effect i wanted but now its fucked up my drums and i cant get back. -q-
help.

@pesky: do you mean the slicing tool in the playlist? if you slice a pattern block it will divide the block 2 different patterns but midi notes? dont know what you did there lol
@zedz: no need to be picky, lots of good tuts out there on youtube, especially warbeats is high quality stuff. also videos have a search function

i sliced the block in the bottom pattern editor and when i go back to my original drum pattern track, its not in steps anymore, it shows long midi notes with the ends chopped off? haha.
i was just wondering about the history thing in FL? and how i can undo this shit.

in the browser on the left

current project<history note it will tell you if you cant undo a certain thing before you do it, but most things can be undone, and use ctrl+alt+z instead.

Even easier, you can record into Edison inside FL.

Fo sho stick it on the master channel. I recently just figured that out and I do this instead of export>wav'in the whole song.

@Pesky - undo is a pain in the ass in fl studio. I think the only things you can undo playlist / step sequencer modifications. I do know that if you slice a track in "block" mode it will slice it into a new pattern which 80% of the time is not what you want.

To my knowledge the easiest way to do this is to use an audio io that has multiclient drivers. Then just route the asio channel that handles fl's audio output into the asio input of another audio application. That is if you are trying to do more than merely record the output of fl. If that's the case, as peoples said here, just use edison.

If you were not hip to the use of edison in a mixer channel. Pay attention to that, because it is huge, much huger than just recording the audio output from fl. This is an excellent way to resample and just take all your sounds to the next level. And to do it VERY QUICKLY, which again, is huge.
