"A student who admitted throwing a fire extinguisher from the roof of a central London building during the student fees protests has been jailed. Edward Woollard, 18, from Southampton, was among protesters who broke into 30 Millbank and emerged on the roof during the demonstration on 10 November.

He was jailed for 32 months after admitting committing violent disorder at an earlier hearing. Sixty-six people were arrested following the violent protests."

i think it's more that they're trying to dissuade people from doing things that will kill someone like throwing a heavy metal object from a tower block. however strongly you feel about something, what he did was pretty daft. from that height, if it had hit someone, they'd be dead. end of.
