only thing i'd say is try not to post massive lists of youtube vids in one post because it means the thread can take ages to load, particularly on older machiens, and it'll make the thread pretty much pointless if accessing via a phone
You got a point there I've had people tell me this thread has crashed their computer! No problems with my comp or phone but don't want to make this thread inaccessible to anyone... how many vids per post should we try to limit ourselves to?
maybe post links to youtube rather than the actual video?
everyone would need to label their tunes then, ya know?
we just need a warning on this thread, don't open unless your comp is boss!
is labelling that much more effort than puttin in video tags?

First post, btw.
But,
Srsly.
I live in Florida, USA, and here, we don't get much opportunity to have dubstep in our lives. Personally, I've been striving to find it since I stumbled across a Rusko Kid Cudi remix.
This thread has opened my eyes. I had previously though dubstep was based upon remixes of other songs. To my delightful surprise it is not.
I really like the slow, but hard sounds of Heny G, and Jakes - Dopeman is exactly what I want to hear. Marshy - Intima is pretty epic as well. Von D & Riskotheque is great!
I've only made it through about 40% of the songs so far on here, and I will be ignoring some aspect of my life until I complete that endeavor.
Thanks again guys.
Respect man!!
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

it's fine for me at home but my computer at work was having a bit of trouble with it heh
don't want to get militant with it but 2 videos per post seems about right. there's nothing to stop people doing consecutive posts if they really want to post lots of videos but a page with 20 posts each of 10 videos equals a lot of extra content
mikey g wrote:maybe post links to youtube rather than the actual video?
no need for that - just need people to be sensible with what they're posting

Amazing that I forgot this one :s really...
But there are lot's of tunes not in it that deserve a spot here!
So keep posting
Lets be honest no matter how many tunes get posted on here there is always going to be another really obvious one yet to be mentioned. Which is awesome
Although I love the fact you bring up more 'easy-to-listen' dubstep, I have one problem with your statement.
Just because newer dubstep is more violent/heavy it doesn't make it less good and certainly not less admirable. And if you come up with the argument that those other songs mean something and all of that. Well here's something, the new ones do also. You just don't have the time to think as much about it because it makes you dance like the devil's after you.
But music comes in 2 ways for me. Those that inspire me mentally; where I can think about and those mostly make me feel sad. Or the other kind of music wich also gives me an emotional boost but a rather happy/proud one. That is the most beautifull of them 2 to me.
Because this second makes you ACT, it goes up your spine and you give everything you got because you exist. If you play the 1st kind of music at a part people think often "Geez, how should I act to this? How should I dance."
I'm not saying the older dubstep is less good but your statement that it was modern day is less 'special' just isn't true to me.
Nielsfest wrote:Although I love the fact you bring up more 'easy-to-listen' dubstep,
wrong. its not 'easy listening' , its actual dubstep. this includes well produced 'jump up' such as jakes, coki, kromestar etc

really depends on the track though doesn't? the majority of jump up nowadays in alot of peoples opinions sounds recycled/stagnant and mostly very unadventurous.

there is a lot less quality in certain areas of the scene nowadays

this music has got some years on it, bare tunes that can still be posted!

fact remains it's more 'easy-to-listen'

I can shoot that quote right back, depends on what you find recycled/stagnant and unadventurous, and I also meant to him that not all the meant tracks are like that
there is a lot less quality in certain areas of the scene nowadays
the reason for that is that the scene has evolved and grown alot bigger, wich means lots of more people are producing, that ultimately means that you also get alot of worse quality
So please respect my opinion and don't go around screening my text to "correct" me which you even aren't doing.

this still isn't a debate thread. any further debates will be moved off thread, since it is not the purpose of the thread. there are millions of threads beating that horse to death on this site, please let's not let this become another
