hell i pirate plugs and sample cds to demo before i buy sometimes since the company offers no viable option, not enough detail in the features i'm looking for in particular, or they have like 1 lil snippet of whats on said sample cd. i'm far from rich and like to invest my money wisely, but if i demo something, like it, i buy it. if not it gets deleted.

I personally, purchase all my plugins and software, purely because I like having something legit especially when it comes to something I consider to be my life (MUSIC) and it is more likely to be stable and work properly.

However, I am not going to moan at or about people who do use cracked software "just don't come fu***** crying to me when your ileagally downloaded version of FL is unable to keep up with this brutal drop" [insert drop here].

Pirating will always happen, and I certainly won't lose any sleep over it.

it's the whole mentality of i'm not going to pay for what i use to make my music that i'm going to send to labels and try to make a buck off of be it via touring or direct record sales that rubs me the wrong way majorly
if the software was good enough for you to complete a tune that you wanna try to make some money or a name off of it, why won't you pay for it?
people with severely fucked up work ethic who expect everything to be handed to them or to only pay once they turn a profit

pretty much, i remember when i thought having a cracked copy of waves was essential as waves were the best, funny how as i explored later on and went all legit i found much better products that were much more affordable

there's nothing identical to massive with all the filters and effects built in, but all you really need is a wavetable synth since that's all it is at heart

Most daw's provides you with enough plugins/etc to make a tune good enough for release.

I don't know why people wank themselves to death over a plugin that the latest producer on the teenybopper bandwagon is using.

I actually avoid looking for dubstep on youtube because of the sheer number of revolting remixes made using massive et al.

software is different from any real life object someone works on then is to be sold. for real life objects, actual hard work from a human went into that specific peice your buying. with software, yes a lot of hard work went into it, but its just a copy that took absolutely nothing to make. the people who made the original were payed long ago and aren't getting paid any more. the only people making any money (or losing) are massively rich corporations that wouldn't have a dent put in them if an entire city pirated their entire arsenal of software. if i go into a store and steal a t.v. thats a direct loss of money that went into the parts and labor that payed for that t.v. to be made. if i steal software, the company actually doesn't even lose 1 penny. but what they gain is the offchance ill buy this software now that ive seen how good it is by being able to fully explore it, and get the features from the new patch , because every peice of cracked software is a really old version with tons of awsome features that were added that you are missing out on. and even if i don't buy it in the end, they still lose nothing, but have gained me telling a bunch of friends about it , and one of them might buy it so it still benefits them in the end.

The thing with ur reflection on massive is very common of a lot of heads... and in my darker days.. i make no exception...

if u have enough money to buy just massive.. (so its actually stable and u have access to the updates)... and no other plug... its encouraging u to get the best out of it...

jacking 12 plugs is gonna turn you into a preset whore... unless ur monk-type-dedicated and grounded....

synths especially dont need to cost u an arm... and if they do.. just buy one at a time...

if not... its fine... but DO recognize that 200 bucks is NOT THAT MUCH unless u intend on buying as many plugs as u could crack..

in short terms... there are drawbacks to pirating... and the quality of a plugin is not an argument towards pirating...
