Ministry of Sound Presents DUBSTEP ACADEMY

Thursday 10th of March 2011
10:30 – 7:00

Hatcha
David Rodigan
Tek-One
Marco Del Horno

The new genre specific DJ Academy, is aimed at teaching both the inexperienced and experienced in learning tips and tricks from pro and pioneering Dubstep DJs, as well as also gaining the opportunity to meet and pick the brains of the men that made Dubstep what it is today. Each session provides the opportunity to work with the DJs that are flying round the world pushing Dubstep onwards and outwards for 2011.

Marco, Hatcha, Rodigan and Tek-One were each carefully selected to give the best advice on DJ skills, production, the origins of Dubstep and the Dubstep scene having learnt all of this plus the value of self promotion as an up and coming DJ for themselves.

The course will take place in all four rooms at the Ministry of Sound club with a huge, final, back to back mix in the main room to really shake things up and showcase the skills learnt throughout the day!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and network with Dubstep DJs, Promoters and Producers on a very personal level. After all, we all know it’s as much about who you know as what you know!

Good lord. For this;

This will include:

- A back stage tour of the iconic venue
- Controlling the booth & DJ equipment
- Professional DJ skills - From FX and tricks, to crowd control and interaction
- The best advice on promoting and making a name for yourself as a Dubstep DJ / Producer
- Expert advice from legendary DJs in the Dubstep scene
- Tuition on all 4 DJ’s booths at the famous London club
- Goody bag with signed CD’s and VIP passes to the club

So it's geared at more DJing than anything production based. And obv. will only be of practical value if you happen to have exactly the same kit setup as MoS do.

As much as I like what they have done I dont think any of them are known for their superior production skills tbh. I think this sounds aimed at teenager who want to be superstar DJs. Bit risky doing something like this when everyone is skint.

I like this bit the best

- Ice Cream and Jelly at 13:00 in the DJ booth
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

A course that delivers the highest standard of tuition, specifically for the Dubstep DJ, Producer and most importantly, the Raver.
finally i can be taught how to procure and properly use drugs in clubs, perform the sickest neck skank maneuvers without getting whiplash and most importantly, learn to fire, reload and maintain my gun fingers properly and safely

"From FX and tricks, to crowd control and interaction" - yeah right. i've always thougth dj's 'playing to the crowd' is a load of bollocks. there could be several hundred people on the dancefloor, pissed or off their faces. and you're supposed to see their reactions and play to them? i'd think if you just play good tracks then you'll be fine.

OMG SHEEP, THAT WAS SO AWESOME!! We installed it on the school computers and left it running on every computer in the library then went and sat at one of the tables pretending to read books and watched as people were like "Wtf is going on here, there's a sheep on my computer..'
