Webster Hall-- The oldest club in town was revamped. It all starts as soon as one treks down 11th Street, heading toward the main doors, where you'll see the deep stairwell-to-nowhere is now an entry point, dressed with a nifty neon sign directing you to "The Studio-- an intimate area designed to hold about 300 while bands and DJs play a buffer of alt rock/ electronic that does justice to the modern sound of New York rock. The Marlin Room is still only a few steps away, and here you find even more updated fun like new furniture and a new bar that has shifted toward the rear. Where once turntablists were forced to spin from that tiny raised space in the wall, now those who man the Mac are set up near the doorway that accesses the main entrance. Head up the stairs (with the stairwell now encompassed by plasma screens featuring cool deco-visions) and pass through the still-undefined lounge/ bar area to the Grand Ballroom that still looks...familiar. However, the back-wall DJ booth has also been ripped out as the selector now permanently holds fort on the large stage, with that gigantic movie/TV screen still in place. Finally, the upstairs balcony still offers all the trappings of a VIP area, sweeping view, a separate room, but the story will remain the same, as this upper deck will remain mostly open to all, with little velvet-rope pretension.

Webster Hall has advised us... Entry/Cover Charges remain at the discretion of Webster Hall.

"* Neat and trendy appearence a must.
Webster Hall reserves the right to deny admission to anyone,
and is not required to specify cause for denial."

Truth be told, being on the InList lowers the bar a little bit, but PLEASE DRESS TO IMPRESS if you intend to use the list... They've been known to prefer charging a little extra instead of telling you they're not digging the way you look.

Kind Regards,

Your fellow Dubstep Lover...

Julien

why does webster hall have to be so gay about their dress code and entrance policies ? it's a 19+ party with kids getting fucked up and dancing, why the need to hassle people about their clothes and charge more at the door ?

im just saying, the club is getting a pretty wide reputation for being dickheads at the door and making up covers different people depending on what theyre wearing...

Maybe use some of Skrillex's ex-bandmates' fashion for what to wear?

Glad I blew the whistle on this situation. Thank you Inlist for finally being honest about the door policy.
Now everyone knows what to expect and they will know that showing up with $20 in your wallet won't get you too far on
an evening like this.

I never had an issue except once i forgot to leave my bud, door man felt it up in my breast pocket.... I threw up my hands, apologized for the accident and said "its yours now, enjoy" .... he took a look at my sour, said "we good..." and in I went.

But its just something about that place, I can't stand. I appreciate that its got one of few big rigs i come across in NY.
really though, why put "Heels for women" in the dresscode???
It's not strictly enforced, but lots of kids are gonna think it will be and thus subject their feet to unnecessary pain. Its like saying

"Women, you may not dance tonight."

Right after I'm leaving the city! I think this will be worth coming back for. Shoes comment is bizarre. As a woman, I think requiring heels for an event like this is totally ridiculous. And I won't wear them.

yeah. i tried to get there tonite and i was on a "guestlist" but the list girl said $20 then the ticket lady said $45. i guess they didn't like me or something. needless to say i didn't go. oh well.

fortunately, i live down the street so no big deal, but i feel bad for people driving out from far aways.

on the positive, it seemed pretty packed and i guess webster hall know how to make their money.

It's to my understanding that they will be letting ticket holders in before they start letting in people on the guest list. As to not reach capacity and leave ticketholders out in the cold.

I go to WH often and have worn sneakers or flats and have never been turned away! I don't think they are strict about such things :)
