ns10's and a hafler thru a mackie big knob in the studio room.
old-model m-audio bx8's for generally rocking out. can't believe how beefy these things sound-- maybe not the world's most accurate monitors, sure, but nice and heavy. great for checking the 'energy' levels of a mixdown.

Tannoy Reveal 5As for the studio, Logitech 5.1 speakers/sub for DVD/BluRay or if I want to test stuff out with a bit more bottom end.
Gonna replace the Tannoys eventually, I think... very good, but not quite perfect for bassy music. You want to hear Bach through them, mind.

ears
years
gear
word up ...
I use PT HD reclocked by an antelope OCX
and I monitor through barefoot Audio MM27's

they are everything the internet says they are ... and more
trust me
they weigh over 80 lbs ( 36 KG) a piece
for mixing music (dubstep and bass music espicially) the 4 x 10 " subs come in handy
( I have mixed releases for artists that have ended up on shift, betamorph, perk recordings, stupid fly, relentless audio, filthy digital ... yada yada)
I am mundysound.com ( my site is lagging ... but should be fully rocking in 2 to 3 weeks )
you can find out more about me and my live sound work by googling "mundy pm5d"
ps I do mixdowns and mastering

THESE.......LOVE EM'

Re:
Depends on who you are. I have the hs80m with no sub and I love listening to my classic rock LPs on them.scooterjack wrote:at home - Yamaha HS50m + HS10w Sub
not exactly what you'd want to sit and listen to music on, but i'm absolutely in love with mixing on them
I also have an old set of Behringer Lies that I bought in like 03. Be thankful now guys, there is a lot more to choose from now. Mackies where out of my range in those days. Anyway I have the Lies set up around my decks and I have a 15" sub from the 70's that I found on a job. They told me I could take it. I have a small amp rigged up to it. The Behringers have RF problems but other than it sounds pretty nice.
I have it in the plans to move the sub downstairs and build a vintage hifi set up around it. Things are breaking around my house at the moment unfortunately the plans are delayed.
Oh this is what the sub looks like. If you blow the woof, it can double as an ottoman.

RP8's with some Auralex Mopads...
got the 10s sub as well.
makes producing, mixing and home listening a pleasure
