FL Studio Books

Post by fragments » Wed Jan 19, 2011 3:39 pm

A search of dubstepforum.com didn't turn up any relevant threads on this topic. I'm looking for recommendations on books on Fl Studio such as "FL Studio Bible" (By Scott Fisher). A quick amazon.com search turned up several hits, so I know they are out there, but has anyone read them and got anything out of them? Any to avoid? Any recommendations on general production or music theory books are also welcome.

Lurking here as already taught me a lot. Thanks folks.

The official one is the FL Studio Bible that you mentioned. I picked it up at guitar center a few months ago and it's been very helpful to me!

I saw "How to Make a Noise" when I searched amazon.com, will have to see if I can get it from the library.

How old is that bible... I know it has been around for a while, do they update it? If so, I'd pick it up. They're adding features quicker than I can learn them. My workflow is beginning to be a bit out of date.

A quick note about the bible--several reviews on amazon and else where stated that the bible is pretty much just the help manual that comes free w/ the software as a PDF. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Other reviews said it was extremely helpful. I ended up not purchasing that and getting a some other books I'll post about when I've gone through them.

Gonna check that link on "How to Make a Noise"

The help file is extremely helpful, either way. Just touch something on fruity's interface and then hit f1, you will almost assuredly learn something.
