I really can't say enough good things about my stanton c.324s. They are really awesome units, but I'd only suggest them to bedroom DJs...I had a friend with a set that was used for house parties a lot and is kind of shot now. But the fx and platter controls are all fantastic for the price. I use them with a Behringer DJX700 and I love it :) Plus, you won't have to lug your gear to the club very often nowadays if you are a pro with CDJs.

If you want to go the xponent route I'd suggest first getting the m-audio x-session pro to learn the torq software and see if you like it. I think they still sell them at best buy. It's essentially the same thing but you just have to click with the mouse on a lot of things that the xponent has buttons for.

I use this usually to make some of my mixes it does get the job done but only if you would like to practice mixing at your house but definitely not worth the price of $600. Even though Torq is amazing software I love the interface it looks so sexy :D

Around 6 months ago i managed to pick up a second hand pair of Denon DNS 3500 for £450....

Having played on CDJs up and down the budget scale, from Pioneer 800s to 1000mk3s, as well as the low end numark, stanton & denon offerings...i cant really say enough nice things about the DNS 3500 :ukking:

Response is smooth and controlled, it supports Mp3 playback, the features are incredibly easy to access and use and if you're new to beatmatching you've got a couple of different ways you can do it, either using the 7" rotating vinyl platter (which you can mount a real vinyl on :middlefinger: ) or via the standard +/- pitch button.

I've used them at gigs for 5+ hours a couple of times a week and i've had no problems whatsover...also used for regular bedroom sessions and radio shows...

bloody lovely CDJ's and at over half the price for a pair as a single pioneer, you cant really go wrong :5:

I spent ages looking at CDJ's before finally splashing out with my student loan and a fair bit of saving on a pair of CDJ350's. I was very close to getting the Stanton C.324's or the NDX400's (both have been mentioned) but i ended up going for pioneer purely because;
- I don't want to come into problems 6 months down the line and waste money, the C.324's seem almost certain to do that at some point
- When i play out (got my first in 2 weeks, fucking hell), i know exactly what i'm doing instead of worrying why the CDJ1000 isn't set up like a Gemini when i get there
- Although unlikely, if i ever had to sell these on to upgrade, pioneer don't really lose much money due to the brand name. If i was selling the NDX's i'd probably get near to nothing
- I want to take this seriously, it's an investment

If not the 350's, i'd look into the 400's. Essentially the same thing, but in the right place you can get them for fucking cheap.
