I haven't as yet, but Transition seems to be a standard for a few heads. Don't know if anyone's tried Metropolis.. there's bare places in London actually. Some real decent ones, too.

Liquid Mastering in London is doing a lot of Grime and UKG stuff, and I know quite a lot of UK producers use them.

Heathmans is a big, pro facility and they do every kind of music, but do al ot of UKG and especially Drum'n'Bass. Very good!!!

If you're cutting to vinyl I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lupo or Rashad at D&M if you can afford 'em. I'd budget about 100-150 euros for the mastering itself, plus material costs like lacquers (which can be offset against what it would cost at the pressing plant, so it doesn't really count). They're in Berlin though so no good if you want to sit in on the session.

Hey,

I'm going to Lacquer channel in toronto.
They can do your tunes from anywhere and adjust price point according to your ability to pay from what I understand.
They have done HUGE HUGE STUFF!!!!! Like Led Zepplin records.
They used to cut laquer there and have been around since the 60s.
I'm going to go in and do an interview here soon and post an article with a/bs.
If you want more info on how to get your stuff done REAL analogue mastering house with tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and a few decades of experience, just shoot me a line and I'll tell you who to contact. For kit list watch the video here. These guys are like Transition - they used to cut mothers.

This is the guy that I'm getting to do my work - this is 1 of three parts (30 minute interview):

I do a fair bit of digital mastering-- the whole bass tourist catalog, most of the Embassy Records catalog, and some of the Low Motion material.

As a rule, i never master my own stuff-- it's just too damn hard to be objective.

Recent projects i've been involved with have been mastered by Dave Tipper, our own macc, Transition, Shane @ Finyl Tweek and Beau, who i believe was @ heathman's and am not sure where he's at now.

all have been excellent folks to work with, and their work is highly reccomended.

Beau's at Masterpiece in London now - only a mile or two away from where Heathmans was/Finyl Tweek is (same place, but renamed). Top boy Beau, I owe him a lot.

The dude from Lacquer Channel seems well sound, see him around online quite a bit. Let us know how you get on!

This was a serious thread resurrection, 5 years

Yeah Macc - for sure I'll post up the experience at lacquer channel - photos, a/b between provided and mastered material etc.
macc - you are very knowledgeable as well and I would consider http://www.scmastering.com for work (moreso if I could sit in on the sessions :) )

Anyone looking for work in toronto (they do unnattended sessions too so anyone in the world really) - Laquer Channel is here: http://www.lacquerchannel.com/

I'll be using Amsterdam Mastering for my next tune. Noisia's Machine gun album was mixed there and it sounds perfect. Not in London though.
