I don't really think a dubstep/trance fusion genre would work. Trance isn't trance without the 4/4 kick. Dubstep isn't dubstep with the 4/4 kick.

nah man dubstep can totally be 4x4... though I haven't heard much trance that's anything but 4x4. I think the main thing about trance is the epic build ups and breakdowns and not necessarily the thump thump thump thump
