The Dog and Gun in Keswick does about the best pies in the world - proper lardy shortcrust pastry, really good meat in the filling.

On the cheap front, the balti pie is one of the great ideas of our time - "I can't decide whether I'd rather have a pie or a balti. Wait, I know..."

ALLOW: those fuck awful pies you get in a lot of pubs where they've clearly taken a little bowl of rubbish, flavourless, textureless stew, dropped a premade and frozen puff pastry lid on it and bunged the whole thing in a microwave. It should be fucking illegal to describe those things as pies, they take one of the few things that english food has ever been really good at and package up a dry wank of an imitation of it, FUCK OFF!

and i figured at some point in this thread someone would bring up crackin pies...i honestly thought thats what the thread was before i clicked it. i mean what fucking music forum has an entire thread about eating pies? anywhere near my town this thread would quickly deteriorate into party stories involving nitrous oxide & balloons in hottubs. thats prolly my favorite type of pie...but i also enjoy me some blueberry-apple
