Right...
so ive been trying to mix this tune for a while now and still haven't got the knack of it, i feel like such an amateur when it comes to this tune.
firstly i thought it is missing 4 bars in the intro, like in Mala - Eyez. But when i beatmatch it then try to mix it, it ends up sounding god damn awful at the drop.
anyone have any tips for this one please??
also having a similar problem with ramadanman - work them

its cos the chimes in the intro are on the off beat i believe, so you have to mix it in half a beat after you would normally cue a tune

hit the nail on the head... you mix it just like you would with "Filth" by Skream

i dont mix, but like im sure its not the same, i could easily follow filth and the beat came in when i expected, but with ny is killing me, the chimes are off the beat, so when it drops in you dont expect it to happen there. how would you get round that, its really hard to find the beat during that intro.

yeah tried mixing like skream's filth but it dont work.
i think you need to have the chimes INBETWEEN the beats, so it'll be like..
kick-chime-2nd beat-chime-snare-chime-4th beat.
cos when it drops its half a beat out... but still havent nailed it

really like this tune but it's a bit of a waste release if you ask me. yes, it is pretty difficult to mix with (i've had it for a few weeks now and still havent really got my head around it) but also, and perhaps most annoyingly, it's so unnecessarily pressed at 33rpm! why would anyone press a one sided record at 33rpm??
was so hyped when i heard it was coming out but i think i might just sell my copy...

OT but interesting enough as is. "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" is pretty much impossible to get a blend down 'cause the drummer doesn't stay on the same time for more than like 5 seconds. I spent a good hour trying to force a mix on that one once, hehe

thats a shame man
also i heard pressing at 33rpm makes the quality sound better... or i may just be talking out of my arse.

mix from the 2nd chime sound before the 1st chime sound repeats and mix it like Filth.
so the chim sound goes
DING*bup*ding then repeats
mix at that bup / rim shot sound and mix it like filth and then your laughing.
