@Khoff, all i can say is that was f'ing sick! sweet track
@nnny i was really feelin the piano vibe although could use a little more midrange, but thats just my opinion of course
@xephex that was interesting lol. pretty damn innovative to say the least, try adding a fatter kick if you get a chance
@tbunreal try a little less reverb in those higher frequencies

I don't know if this is technically a work in progress as it's just one loop, but it is my first attempt at resampling any of my bass patches, and after listening to them about 100 times over I can't really distinguish whether they sound like junk or not (especially that second one that sounds like a cash register) so any feedback would be very much appreciated. Also the drums are pretty crap I didn't spend much time on them

the formant filtering on the bassline creates a lil to much high end maybe eq out some of the top end

alright now this is something i started last night and it is a way more mellow then most of my other works wondering how everyone feels about the melody Soundcloud

Fbac wrote --> @ Tox1k : - yea defo louder,, sounds like a mastering chain (ozone maybe?) , has it effected that white noise style pad in the intro? could it do with a bit more reverb as it dips in volume rather then flows. Altho this way it is abit more technoy.
at the drop my sub wasnt really kicking in,,, when i turned up the sub and put my head next to it, it seemed as tho alot of the drums were playing about down there, there was no solid sub to accompany the bass. This may have been lost in the compression loudening phase. (again all my opinion and i could be very wrong ^^) ... the synth crazy sound sounds abit too loud compared to the drums in my opinion too.
(Have you tried sending everything to a couple of group channels and mixing down from there?) <--and if this is a really nooby thing to say to someone on here im really sorry lol
Lol dont worry man I'm a total noob at this stuff. To underline that fact, let me state that I use FL 9. I've decided to use it until I find a reason not to... so far there's only been one. If I have lets say... 6 instances of MASSIVE (vst) open, and all pumping, my PC, though pimped to the tits (pardon my french, not sure if those words are allowed in this forum) just does not like it and FL crashes. (And for all you people who are like, "Eeewwwww... Fruity Loops makes crackling noises in the background!" You need only increase your buffer length.
Moving on though...
I simply used 2 instances of the fruity compressor... lol. and I only used it on the channel assigned to my basslines :P They both had different settings for Attack, Release, and Threshold, and when the drop... dropped... I turned up the gain on both of them. I'm going to re-work it though, it drowns out the other electric machine-y sounds a tad too much.
As for the Sub Bass I simply have not worked it into most of the song. Mainly because I'm still learning about doing it and my sub is not sensitive enough for me to properly detect any frequency clashing.

Will give feedback in a while, I'm on my mobile phone and I can't listen to your updates right now :r:
My first ever finished track. Wondering if it needs a bit more... I forgot to put hi Hats in near the end but it makes the outro sound kind of better? Would like feedback

Kushhmane- pretty sweet sounds I think it will turn out ok, but a few pages back a guy was really bashing people for posting tracks longer than this. maybe bring more next time so we can give you better feedback.

tox1k- the synth i think on the upbeats reminds me of :corndance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LQ4rfdcTNM maybe add something towards the end to keep the spice so you are not relying on wobbles and dropplets for melody.

five-ohh-what- nice sounding good and chill the melody seems alright but you might want to bring it forward a bit more it seems hard to hear but it could be my shoddy ears.

@T0X1K Cool synth sounds, very vibey and atmospheric. However, sometimes it feels as though there is almost to much reverb, or at least to many high frequencies interfering with each other. Try more eqing, panning, etc. Also, when the distorted wobbles and things start, the drums seem to low. Lots of potential though!

@five-ohh-what I really do like the melody. The kick and the sub seem to work very well together. It seems like at some points you could bring in another synth lower in the mix just to provide some harmonic support at times for the melody.

@kushhmane I have been trying for a while to get the hang of resampling and frequency splitting, and I have got nowhere. I think you are really starting to get somewhere though. Maybe you could try to put some more movement into each layer of resampling to get some twisted basslines.

@coreygoesrawr i love that chunky bass sound, wish i could make synths like that. the melody part goes well over the top.

@five-ohh-what love the drum sounds, nice bassline, could maybe use some more variation in the melody though

@kushhmane amazing wobbles, sounds good so far

here's my first attempt at a full song in fl, nothing special i know but i could use some mixing tips i've only had fl studio for maybe a week now

Krispies- definitely need to work on your volume levels. you can check the bible and youtube for how to do that but other wise good solid sound. Once you get the volume sorted people will be able to give you better feedback. Only other thing that stands out is you might want to automate from about :40-:105 it seems like one constant wobble get some movement in there and it will help create energy. keep at it man

five-ohh-what - I like the melody but I would add a bit more variation to it.. I'm liking the drum pattern alot too :D
krispies - Kicks sounds really flat.. layer a few different kick sample to give it more punch.. the volume levels are way off too... I like the breakdown at 1.09.. Keep working on it man :W:
mlh295 - The Sample but its a bit quiet, oaw god massive drop! Usually that bass isn't one of my favorites but it sounds fucking nice, bro. :corndance:
CoreyGoesRawr - Like the beat and the badass Gran Torino sample. :h: The bass seems too rough and distorted to fit with the melody IMO
T0K1C - I use Fl too man.. The Fruity Limiter is much better IMO... Better userface and http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/htm ... imiter.htm helped me in understanding compression alooot :)

Here the latest version of my WiP.. Tweaked/Added to the build-up, drop, and drums mostly.. Edit: I just noticed the pad came out a bit quiet this time too...

Hi guys!

Still new to production and everything, but here is my 2nd track that I've done! I didn't do dubstep this time but more like a tropical deep house tune. I hope you like it! And if you could comment on Soundcloud, that would be greatly appreciated because it's so hard to keep track of them here.

Thanks!
Soundcloud

@krispies pretty good man! you got something going, I would lower the frequency of the wobble a bit though, a little hard to listen to with headphones! Also, try to put a couple drops in there, or a few more variations in the drums and wobble. keep producing! :)

@mlh295 very cool/wet wobbles! I like your drops, maybe get rid of a few hihats and then drop them again later in the track. I really like where you are goin with this tune!!

@alexvont12 i like ur kicks, very deep. the wobbles i think need to be a little bit less distorted and maybe add another layer to the wubs to make them a bit thicker. keep going!

@Nicorisone- Nice beat, love the atmosphere for sure!

@FutureWars- Add a sine wave base to that and that should improve it greatly!

@Kushhmane- I think it sounds great, If you were to add a low sine wave base to it, it would make the track. Create a nice intro and you got it man!

@CoreyGoesRawr- Great idea so far, I'd add a silence gap with a good vocal sample from a favorite movie and a silent gap before the drop to make it feel harder. that will always add an element of excitement!

Here are the tracks I posted before followed by a new one I just started on...

@ Bain- like the bas of anti-swastika it is working well....maybe some variation on the beat? some reverbed+delayed long claps??
High risk..wuold help a thickier bass sound maybe? trying to add another osc to make it a lil' more twisted??maybe duplicating it with diferrents settings and chopping up the whole things to add variation?
Keep up the good work!

@wabble -- i'd bring that snare a little more to the front of the mix, I know dubstep has that reverb'ed snare sound characteristic but I feel like it looses punch and power cuz it's not present enough... maybe layer a different more punchy snare along with it? nice melodies tho, contrast well with the 'filth'

@ruthyloops -- try layering that midrange synth/bass wobbly bit, it feels a bit thin I'd say... will help create presence and focus especially since its your 'bass' sound in the track.

@Norvege -- check your soundcloud for the comments :)

I'm pretty new to production, been trying at it for a couple of months and I'm real keen to steer clear from presets and loops... anyway I feel this track is a decent effort but I know it needs more work.
I'd just like to know what you all think :) cheers !
