nowaysj wrote:Exactly my point homie. Bronze is by far the apparently simpler of the two tracks. Far less going on. Buddha'z got a ton of shit worked in and out of there. And that is why I think people vote for it (other than the fucking ace battle royale vocals), cause they can hear the work. It's right there for them to hear, the effort, the thought, etc. But in a track like Bronze, you can't hear the work. The work was spent in the reduction of complexity.

That is why when people see paintings like this:

They say, oh I could do that, it is so simple and then roll their eyes at what art has become.

Especially when they compare it to something like this:

Where it is apparent, right there on the face of the canvas, the amount of labor, thought, and effort that went into the painting (and so it must be good).

I suggest that both paintings have an equivalent amount of work, thought and effort, though it is apparent to casual observers only in the later.

I, of course, prefer the former. Simply a matter of taste though, bro.

But you do have to admit the "mastering" on buddha is a little bit painful.
thx to everyone involved and sirius for putting this on.......respect to the real winner Code Zero aka Scorpion.....chune was wickid
well said......."reduction of complexity"
thx to everyone for being honest..........the next battle should have this as a requirement i.e. a honest critique on why or why not you vote is cast.
not knowing who anyone is made it really easy to tell someone "the highs are harsh"
this helps everyone grow foward
respect to everyone for being honest..the highs were harsh (sorry) there were elements in the track that were not cohesive and use of movie sample/1 loop(@phigure) was something I dont usually do but it was 1am when I started this and wanted to finnish it!

I have been in electronic for 15 years and the production that is coming out of this place is really pushing the envelope...be proud...all of u
