I haven't actually posted anything in these for a little while, but this is the second track I've started in January, the first one is a collab so it's taking a bit longer. This is not dubstep, sorry, it's more ambient/chillout than anything.

Soundcloud

The synth sound at 1m20 is too high/piercing, actually gave me a headache when I listened to it

Overall, really liked it. Nicely mixed (above exception not withstanding), good flow and doesn't disappear up it's own ass with too much ambient stuff like so many tunes of this nature do. Only complaint would be that from about 3m17s I got a bit bored, like I was expecting something else to happen to the tune, like a switch up in arrangement.

@Bainsound cool track.... I just feel like the snare is too loud!

@JBE Nice....really chill. Nothing to complain about besides maybe add a bit more variation?

@InvisiblePersonBecauseTheresNoOneToLeaveAThirdFeedBackFor Your track sucks.

Ok I changed up the drums during the wobble so now there is no cymbals and it does indeed show off the wobbles a bit more!

@Nicorisone : Really digging the vibe on this, really chill with nice sounding elements, The bassy sound sounded abit upright for me, maybe longer attack, but thats only my opinion as i also like that kick quality it has about it. Plucked strings are really nice, maybe the nice percussion could be brought up in volume slightly altho they do sound nice in the background. Really diggin it.

Soundcloud

how are the drums?

is it too loud?

get rid of part 1:00 to 2:00ish ?
i like the sounds you used, the sounds inthe beginning sound nice but i miss something, dont really know what. after the intro you made a pause.. but i think it could be more filled, its sounds a little empty to me. but it is anyways a good tune;) keep gooooing

jakedubber - haha the samples in the beginning are ace! i really have no suggestions but i agree with taking down the delay just a little bit

fbac - the drums are perfect, the snare just needs to be a little more punchy. this way it cuts through much easier. your snare seems to get a bit lost right at the first drop because it doesnt cut through enough. maybe layer it with a marching snare ora clap. but the overall dynamics are great. i love how the track is very happy, it kind of reminds me of black books. but to answer you last questions. do NOT get rid of 1:00-2:00. this isny normally my cup of tea but i really like it.

five-ohh-what - the intro sounds awesome so far, very balanced. the kick sounds a little flat, maybe layer it with a house (oonst) type of kick, but the snare of on point. but in general. the whole track is very well composed and put together. i dig!

heres the thing i started last night. my first attempt with vocal samples/movie clips/whatever. i need to work on a few parts and transitions and do a little resampling to get certain parts wacky enough to keep peoples attention but im pretty happy with it for the amount (or lack of) of work i put into it

@Filthy: I kinda like how sparse youve made the drum line, bass sound is filthy as fuck - nice reverb on it too. Needs some more variations on percussion to keep me interested. Intro was live as well man.

@SaharaDubstep: To be honest, the intro and drop left a lot to be desired for me, but the actual main bit is really nicely done. I could do with more sub bass and a bit more reverb on the percussion but apart from that and the intro i likes it man.

@Antman: Intro was really cool, but when it dropped those bass sounds are way too confused. Trying to get too many ideas across, just refrain a little bit. The intro deserves a lot better than what the drop provides.

Me and my mate who produces as A Simple Mind got together for the first time today and came up with this.

Filthy- nice sample reminds me of Forgetting Sarah Marshall :cornlol: I like the direction you are going with your bass but it sounds a hollow, try adding a sub underneath it to give it more umph. maybe chop the sample up and bring part of it back in at some point so it doesn't feel neglected lol you are headed in the right direction though.

Debaser1- nice intro on your drop maybe build up to it a little more it just kind of appears out of nowhere, you might even try to just increase the volume of the "wind down" sound before it. The rest of the track is pretty nice you might try just a hint of distortion or bitcrusher to the bass but it might sound. keep at it

Saharadubstep- nice deep sound :) I would like to hear the flute sounding thing come back here and there in the piece. Maybe vary the bass a little bit more as well it would help keep it interesting. going to be a good track when its finished :4:

hopefully this is the final or close to it :). I've been working on the mix trying to get it just right but I don't have any quality monitors, tbh I've been using $30 skull candy ear buds :(
This is also the first track I've come close to finishing so I'm even less experienced with mixing so any advice would be fantastic. I would really love to get this moved into the finished track thread but I want it to be quality ya know?
Thanks dsf

@Saharadubstep- nice track, personally I kinda liked the intro... but like debaser said, i think the intro and drop make you expect a little more, and more sub couldn't hurt

@antman- also liked this one, but I felt that the drop was a little too unexpected... keeping the sense of surprise is very important, but use simplicity where it's needed. Making parts of it a little more conservative on sound usage might give room for more groove during the drop

@debaser- ur song wouldn't play for me... I'm guessing it's because of my work computer, probably some kind of weird browser issue... this computer is a piece of crap, so I'm gonna listen to it at home to hopefully get some good feedback (plus I'll have my monitors)

i will leave more feedback when I get home where i can use my monitors to give some good feedback... Can't listen to anything on my work comp unless I'm on my break... so I will return all feedback with interest : )

here's a little collab project I did while trying to teach somebody ableton... kinda glitch-hop dubstep stuff with some trippy sounds... Not sure what other ppl think so some feedback would be nice... If anybody has any mixing tips i'd be happy

@ JBE Ahh shit I have had a track from you for a bit now on my HD, but for some reason I didn't know who you were. I am now following you on the soundcloud, this track is my sort of thing man, feeling it. I will check the rest of your stuff in the next few days, and leave you some feedback their, might drop a few of your tracks in a up, and coming mix :4:

@ antman; I like your intro, but after that it all went a bit down hill for me, Keeping working at it man.

@ filthy_; The drop nearly made me shit my self
I would get some more hats in their to add a bit of suffle, also think it could do with a little switch up in the middle. Outro is lovly man :W:

@ Debaser1; This is not really my thing, but I like the switch up at the end. If this was my track I would make it more focused around that bit.

Just trying to dust my writing skills off for FAWM, Tell me what you think?

3za- weirs da wobble? nah man, i love it. puts me in such a peaceful place. mad respect on that. the way it ends is almost perfect. and its a work in progress.. damn

debaser the end was really good, but during that middle, i just felt.. discombobulated with it? idk id really have to hear it all done, its a 50/50 for me right now

filthy haha the name suits ya, the panning was really nice. even dug the clip stood out at 1:41 man something about the way that all flowed had me chills goin.

@ Antman
I can see what your trying to do... but the whole structure of the song seems pretty messed up, try changing the drum pattern a little and maybe tone the whole wobble madness thing down, leaves space for other sounds !

@Sahara Dubstep
I got pretty bored during the intro.. not going to lie, but im glad i kept listening cause the actual song is really nice, good sounding drums and the midrange wobble is quite nice ! good work, maybe switch up the drums a bit more along with the wobble, like the automation though !!

@Debaser
Bare feeling this track, like the sample during the intro, and the sub when it drops, really crisp sounding drums as well, good work man, more of this please !

Now for my track, made in like half an hour, only a 32 bar intro, but just wanted to see what people thought ! cheers guysssss

@Craggle not a bad start... interesting to see how the drop/bass comes in...

@oprs hmm.. the intro is too long...I would probably try to shorten it. When the kick comes in, they're too soft. The drop is pretty deep but I would probably try to find something that works a little better for the higher frequency sounds you chose.

@3za nice key work... I'm still kinda wondering where you're going with the track.. if you're keeping it all piano or using that for the melody to a dubstep track.. either way, it's pretty nice :D:

@Isturite come-for-your-gold-final-vers - nice man... like the beat and energy... the bass is pretty tight.. *head bob* can't say much more! gj! :W:

@CoreyGoesRawr like that background synth/melody that comes in at around :30.. interesting drop/bass but I think there needs to be more bass/kick behind it..(I know... easier said than done.. ) Seems a bit soft even on a pretty good sound system I'm on right now.. I would like it a lot more if the bass was a little heavier!

@Saharadubstep like the drop and the beat... the beat is real nice actually.. so is the bass/wobbles.. Seems a tad flat on the high end.. I would probably try to fine tune it a bit more and eq a little more on the highs to enhance it but great job! :W:

@debasser duck-shredder wow man... awesome track :Q: The beat is spot on.. the bass is nice and grimey! Well produced! I like it...

Anyhow, this is a new track I'm workin on... I recorded all the percussion samples myself and the vocal sample is my girlfriend... lemme know ya think...

Filthy- I think this is one of the sickest tracks I've heard in a while, not complaints, if it were me I might use a harder kick, and some hats, but everything sounds really polished, A little repetitive too, I'd maybe add some robotic incidentals or stuff to emphasize the vampire bit, That part gets a little lost in the song, but this is really sick, nice work man.
Debaser1- I like your drums alot they fit the piano and the sample, Your drop and the bassline are sick, Honestly everything just sounds a little dry though, maybe layer some harder samples over top and reverb stuff a bit? Great bass sounds too, but it feels like they should be more present in the mix. over all great stuff man.
Jakedubber- I feel like your bassline could be deeper and your drums could be harder and your snare more reverbed out, your pads and leads should be wetter, but everything sounds really good other than that, solid ideas and sound design.

Over to mine, I have a few I'm thinking I'm done with but I'm not sure because I've heard them so much:

antman - o wow those intro sounds i really regocnize from some vst ive got!! whats it called? :D
creepy vibes but tune is not really doin it for me!! throw some more percussion in there! :corndance:

filthy_ - LOVE the panning work in the intro. sweet drop and bass!!! but percussion is REALLY empty.. to u aswell, throw in some WICKED percussion an u got urself a wicked tune. really nice dark vibe to it totally digging this!! kick maybe bit too present for my taste but still works wonders :corndance:

debaser1 - beautiful intro vibes. btw your avatar :cornlol: peep show is outrageously funny. nice drop!! uve got some sweet percussion goin on! o that was short at the end i was very curious waiting for next drop/switch up!! def keep working on that!!

coreygoesrawr - loving the sound of the lead synth, not to keen on the bass tho it dosent give the tune any time to breathe i feel. drums sounding good!! strange overall vibe to the tune..

Isturite - just put the track on and hit me instantly this is ill as fuck. its abit peaking at times tho and that first (square?)bass is abit too loud. loving this, mad shit going on!! curious how u go on about creating all the different "glitch" sounds.

3za - lovely piano. lol could defintly be an anime intro theme or something. or maybe the sims. :i:

craggle - the synth in the intro!! how is it made/whats it called? sounds lush :corndance: i say dont drop some uber gnarly "bro" bass later on this the intro had such a mellow vibe to it!! stick to that vibe!!

nonXero - that little BLEEP in the intro got me jumpin lol.. kicks a bit too loud!! i think the drums shouldnt stop once the bass starts it would be a smoother transition.. i love all the little bakground sounds (except the bleep scares the shit outta me) other half of the tune felt abit like a different tune..

Kes - loving the percussion and the synths... yesss garage vibes.. loving it.. feels abit muddy tho.. also theres a high frequency tone going on throughout the whole track
liked blue stuff alot more!! much more "clean" percussion is really on spot for me beautiful leads and melodies aswell.. really got nothing bad to say about that one.. except it could be a little longer

Soundcloud
heres my latest shit!! have a listen and tell me what u think :corndance:
