what dj's do depends on their medium:

dubplates & vinyl: cocaine and blowies (why do you think we always have that black fabric on the tables?)

serato: email and e-trade (MEKKIN MUNNY)

Can kinda see where he's coming from.. DJs always look very busy fiddling with knobs and faders on their controller alongside picking vinyl / flicking through cd wallets. If you in the crowd from time to time you don't hear a difference as if they are fiddling for the hell of it. but I guess if your watching from behind you can see what the dj is fiddling with and notice the difference in the music easier.

I'd love to just watch certain djs do there thing and try and pick up things.

I reckon FlyLo's one of the best people i've ever seen. Dropped Fostercare at the warehouse project, was pretty special.

This is simply untrue regarding Bassnectar. I could give a fuck about Skrillex. Bassnectar is a don.

I never know what Ableton DJ's are doing, cd's or vinyl is pretty obvious though.

hes a madman.. lots of on-the-fly sampling work. at least the few times I've caught his sets. Love him, hate him, or whatever, its just utterly wrong to lump him together with the likes of skrillex

Couldn't.

I could not give a fuck about Skrillex. Damn I have no cheeky comeback to analysis of my former choice of words

to be honest once you actually start learning how to dj, you realize a lot of the stuff going on is just flashy and excessive

you want to look as bad ass as possible.....TURNING AS MANY KNOBS, PRESSING CUE AND FUCKING AROUND WITH THE DECK LIKE YOUR DOING SOMETHING = FLASHY AND COOL

even more bad ass = smoking a cigarette and doing all of the above
