Protests took place outside Bush House, the BBC World Service's London headquarters, yesterday in response to the news that 650 posts and five language services would be lost after a 16 per cent reduction in funding from the Foreign Office.

and yet the BBC still remains the most 'profitable' public owned company...

the BBC News page now has advertising on it when you view it from abroad.

the other day they had one on the main news homescreen from Chevron - given the number of hits the BBC News site gets everyday form all around the world, they must be getting a far bit of money from those adverts.

this is from today...

They're about to launch a new channel 'BBC Entertainment' here in India, that's bare revenue.
