Give me dirty dubstep!

Post by MyNameIs » Tue Feb 01, 2011 3:57 am

I'm looking for sick dubstep artists and or songs that are not so repetitive and boring like so much of the stuff on youtube. Examples of what I'm talking about is pretty much anything by Skrillex (particularly Alejandro remix) I love how random and chaotic it is, not to mention the dirty drops. I also really like Glitch Mob.

skrillex is chaotic with no interesting form or purpose. I don't really think it's possible for dubstep to be all over the place and for it to work. I mean I'd say it's all about the interplay between the bass and the drums.

I'd say if you like music that's all over the place try something like this instead

Im not asking for an alternative to what i listen to, I don't really care if it has no purpose, I like it. And for you to say Skrillex is not interesting form...... thats just ridiculous, but thats your opinion. And lol at that video being "all over the place," but thank you for your input

It's not ridiculous to say Skrillex has no form

It's a mess of played out noises for 15 year idiots

and I was starting off on something still danceable with something more chaotic than dubstep's drums. Something where it works to give the tune more energy. Not just to make annoying little tossers start talking about fingering their sister too.

Try this for something more unpredictable then. Seriously listen to the whole thing

I agree that its a mess of played out noises, but again, that's what I like, chaos and drops, not slow and boring. As for 15 year old idiots, I don't think I've ever met a 15 year old that even knows what dubstep is, so please im not bagging on your music, just asking for people to help me out.

I don't think dubstep works if it's a mess of random noises. Especially when it's the same wobble sounds everyone's heard a million times. They aren't new or interesting sounds Skrillex is painfully boring to me for that. there isn't anything new in it or anything at all creative. Just loads of wobbles and boring sounding production and no interesting composition to it

also dubstep is always within a fairly narrow tempo. It's not slow and boring. It's the same tempo as skrillex half the time, don't see what you're getting at.

Well I don't see how you can say Skrillex is boring, its the most unique kind of music there is, but whatever. AGAIN, I'm not asking what you think of my music, or what you think makes dubstep work, everyone has their opinions and thats fine, I respect them. Im simply asking for suggestions on music similar to what I like, why is that so hard to understand?

Thank you, this is closer to what I'm looking for although still a little repetitive.

Hmmmm. Can I just ask how long you've been hearing music like Skrillex?

It's just I've been hearing the sounds in Skrillex tracks for so long. Which is why they are boring to me.

I'd say you might like Reso?

It's pretty varied and there's a lot going on and it's done well
