FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK IS NO MORE

Post by legend4ry »

Me and pete have discussed this and have come to a conclusion.

If you think your track is finished, then you obviously don't need feedback on your track.

What I mean by this is : If you call a track finished then you obviously are happy with it, if you're unsure and still need feedback, its a work in progress.

So please, use the Dubs forum and I urge all the production heads to help each other with giving constructive crit on eachothers threads within Dubs..

FOR THIS MONTH ONLY : To help people become adjusted to the new change I will have this topic stickied and you can post your topics in here from the Dubs forum, for people to go there and post

http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewforum.php?f=23

[PETE EDIT]

TAGGING YOUR THREAD TITLES N THE DUBS FORUM IS IMPORTANT, I HAVE WRITTEN UP A SHORT GUIDE ON HOW TO DO THIS BEST HERE:

http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=177089

You're more likely to get the response you want then. I'll edit Be-1ne's Dubs forum post when I get time (or get the man himself to).

Also, I'm getting a group of label A&R's and respected producers to do a monthly A&R session where I get them to listen to maybe 5 tracks each and they give a few lines on why the would/wouldn't sign it and any other advice they can offer. I'll be selecting the tunes myself to start with until I can sort out a way of getting some kind of submission system in place. This will be kicking off later this month. I will be relying on threads being marked up appropriately though, so get to it!

x

[/PETE EDIT]

Feel free to moan about this change, too :).

The way we see it, if you lot who use the finished tracks bit, without the rule being enforced, posted in 3 threads in Dubs what wasn't "YEAH SIK TUNE 320?" it will give more people the incentive to give constructive crit to others and overall making this forum a better place.. The Finished tracks thread was a compromise Sharmanji started up due to it was a lot of work to moderate on his own with all the people not posting in the right bit, now theres me and pete modding here we can start going back to normal.

If you have any problems with the Dubs forum, feel free to contact Be-1ne the Dubs forum moderator. http://www.dubstepforum.com/memberlist. ... le&u=75019

I love it.

I hate how inactivate the dubs forum is, the system here wasnt working, and fact is we shoudlnt have self promo in the production forum like that anyway... It was turned into a back scratching contest.

Yes! Definitely down with this, old system was cack. Not quite sure I know exactly what I wanna be prefixing my track with so I'm gonna hold off on posting anything in dubs till some other people go first...

If I am honest and I speak for Pete and Be-1ne too.. We need the strong community here in Production to start using the new system, so the other people in Dubs follow suit!

Well could you explain a bit more about what the "[FEEDBACK] [MPFREE]" ting is about? Are you meant to literally put those things in front or are you meant to write it more like; [Feedback for feedback][no DL] Stealth Elf - Jacob - Dark Garage

???

I'm only a man, I can't comprehend all this.

Well just structure it more innit, if you're just giving out tracks - just say [free320] and if you're looking for some feedback put [feedback] give it a couple of days till we update the dubs sticky

well, not neccesarily. the dubs forum is popular I mean I always see pretty known artists post in there of there releases or labels posting an EP up or something. But, I agree with the rest of your post.

Sounds good ^^
what about putting what system people are listening to the tracks there commenting/feedbacking on?? if there on headphones or a sound system with the sub turned up to 11 for example.

Yeah, maybe add info about what your rig is and what type of monitors/speakers you use in the signature :)
But what about just upping clips (copyright etc) of your new tune on dubs then, don't people find that boring? I think most of them that visit that part of the forum is just looking for free 320s..

I think that's gonna be the biggest problem we will have to combat to get this to work.
