[feedback] IntrinSick - Strange Reality (Melodic Dubstep)

Post by IntrinSick » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:47 pm

This is my first post on this forum but I've been surfing it for quite some time now. Let me say, it's been super useful in helping me figure out the techniques and what not. So many good contributors in here! I've been producing for a couple of years now but mostly only ambient experimental type stuff. I sort of just now feel like I am getting the hang of producing Dubstep.

Anyways, I'd like to hear what you guys think of this track. Constructive criticism is totally welcomed!

P.S. I hope this is in the right place! Let me know if it isn't and I'll delete this post haha

bet this would sound loads better with out the mid range warp on it as it just over powers the tune. the actual tune sounds nice and dubby.

I kind of like the mid-range bass on this one but I do agree that it sounds good without it. That's why I left rest of the song for mostly sub bass and melody.

Thanks for listening!

Nice track dude. I like the midrange in there. Sometimes its a tough call whether or not to add a midrange when you have something deep and melodic, but i think it works :D

I really like this tune, including the midrange. It's not too over the top... just a fun tune.
I think what you really need here is a better mixdown. If you get that sorted, and you're letting it go, I'd take a copy.
Maybe a .wav so I can have it cut? :D

Thanks for the feedback guys!

@Frank, When you say better mixdown what do you think it needs?

Well personally, I think that the midrange is mixed too hot.

After giving it a couple of days with fresh ears, I agree. The midrange is just a bit too hot for this tune. I'm working on getting the mix to gel a bit better now.

Thanks for the advice Grimes!
