@NG Gamma - Wicked riff. Too much reverb on the mid synth. Amen break works well but you use the same part of the break too much, try chucking another part or a fill in every 4 bars. Vibe of the tune is big though. EDIT Just listened to your second version, drums are much better, work on the synth though!

@Steeple - Drums sounds are very nice but basswise didn't find anything for my ear to latch onto. EDIT: Listened to it louder, really nice pulse but maybe fuck about with the filter cut off a bit more, the sound seems to die a bit, maybe EQ the kick to the bass a bit so you can push it more? Obv this is meant for a big system though! Not 100% on the note choice for the break synth. Sounding sick though.

@Nibzdub - Love the riff. Good edits. The skippy 2nd kick drum takes away from the groove IMO.

@4cysdub - Nice drop, could do with layering the synths up, the mid range stuff. Noice.

@Mangela - Work on the intro, had a wierd sort of post-drop drop. The big drop is sick though, wicked sounds, maybe a tad too much reverb on the mid range?
Aggy!

This is DnB and NOT Brostep so feel free not post feedback . Just prefer this forum to DOA :corndance:

@antman – Thanks for the feedback. The intro is meant more so for an opening song, or something lengthy I would use later to mix in a set if I were dj’ing. I really dug your track “Clown Killer”…very interesting vibe. I feel you could add a few more parts in the back ground, like percussion. Or maybe add a slightly different melody, layered with the first later on in the track. Over all the sounds are cool and I like the track. Nice job.

@fbac – Thanks man. Do you have any tracks? I showed you mine…;)

@The Wiseman – Thanks! That’s big compliment after having listened to your track. You, sir, sound like you know a few things about production. Fat as hell! And trust me, “Beast” has bass. Its mostly 60Hz and below. I tried raising it an octave, but it sounds a little louder in the mid. Still working on it though. “Annihilation” sounds pretty good. I like the snare, but I feel like it needs a little more body and a little more snap. Everything else is heavy in the track, and the snare is kind of flat, IMHO. Beef it up, Send it somewhere for professional mastering, then publish it so I can buy it! But, I’ll settle for knowing how you made the deep growl sound :D

@pyroclasm – “Cryokinesis” cool stuff here. I agree with Rat Race, it needs a switch up here and there. Maybe a beat down section, or double time, or maybe a bridge section. Overall sick work.

Here's another one I've been playin around with.

@Bass Sedation add some pad to fill gaps and put some effects on track.

@4Cysdub nice bass, and I like those little vocal samples or what that is :D good track

And here is short clip of track I'm working on now.

Home Noise Record: Ideas are great here. I think your panning means you lose power in your mix though! Also, drums need to really come through more man! But the ride may be a tad too loud. Synths have been treated really nicely though. Generally its just mix problems here. More kick and snare please!

Deniss1: Really awesome intro. Pads are unbelievably good. But, again, ride is a bit loud. Also i think your drums are a bit too tinny. Kick is too high end, snare doesnt punch enough. Also, I think your drop would be far more impressive if it had a silence/atmosphere after the kick roll. The key to large drops is quietness!

BassSedation: Intro needs to ask more questions for me. Tease people! But, your bass is super nicely done. Mix is generally sound. Snare could be more exciting for me though. Needs more punch and length. I like the one you chuck in my right ear every so often though haha!

Rhek: This is such a solid track. Not much to say really mate. If i was super picky, your mid range bass could sit a bit higher in the mix and have a tad more low end. But such an ace track really.

My new one:
Soundcloud

Might be my favourite thing I've ever done. Mixdown feedback is good, cus im inexperienced there, but creative is welcome too!

Debaser1: Wow.. I was blown away by the creativity of the intro until I heard the drop! This is some seriously sick stuff! Will you put a downloadable version on soundcloud?

HomeNoiseRecord: Experimental stuff! Abit too experimental for my taste really but there were some parts I thought was sweet, like the part at 1.20'ish and the synth melody at 2.12. Drums seem to be drowning abit in the mix but nice piece of work!

Deniss1: Dirty stuff! I like! The ride could be lower like debaser1 mentioned, other than that I thought it was sweet. Wicked sound! Loved the drop as well :)

I've been trying to fix the sound of the previous song I posted earlier in this thread after reading some of the mixing and mastering tips and that from this forum, hopefully the bass is less overpowering now:

@deniss1 – Thanks for the feedback. I’m diggin “little whore”. I feel like you could make a transition to really heavy beat down section, with a similar bass melody, but a rhythm that really emphasizes the snare hits, almost like it is sidechained to the snare. Lot of good ideas here.

@Home Noise Record – “electro” – Really cool track! The synths are in a good place, but the drums really need to be brought up in the mix. Have you tried layering sounds? Usually you can beef up the drums by just adding a few more samples in the mix. Try adding a punchy kick, and a kick with some low end bass. Same for the snare. So on and so forth with other sounds. Keep it up man!

@Debaser1 – Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to add some stuff to the track, I’m really just trying to decided whether its worth the effort or not…i.e., is it danceable, listenable, etc. But anyway, Nice work on “What do you want”. I think the mix is really solid. I’m not sure if I like the punchy/high end kick you have. It works well, but just don’t think I like it, but what else do you put there to cut through the mix? Great work man.

@ Debaser - Instantly hooked with the intro, Kick cuts through really well. Maybe add a clap to the snare, needs more slap, or could just need some EQing in comparison to the mid range, the low end on it is solid though. Chuck in a few incidentals too maybe? Before the second breakdown mainly. High - Cymbals and that is spot. Overall mix is solid. I am only listening on phones at the mo, will give it a proper listen on speakers when I can! Fukin love those strings man, some Rob Dougan style shit going on there :m:.

@HomeNoiseRecord
I like the synths, that ride is sounding a bit out of place on my headphones though, might wanna try centering it or something. The kick is a bit gluggy aswell.

@Debaser1
Nice one mate. The cack is sitting a bit loud in the mix maybe? Could maybe put a bit of chorus on the snare or something to bring it out a bit. other than that it's sounding good.

@FRasch
Sounding nice, you could maybe tighten those wobbles up a bit, sounds like they're sidechained or compressed to something and they're a bit ducky wucky. that jokerish synth is real nice. a real c banger.

Ok this tune is a bit different from the ones above, from my new halfstep project. an eyesdown thing. let me know what you think.
think ill get it cut to acetate if it turns out well.

ilv1 wrote:@Asterix: I don't really like the melody for the intro synth... Sounds all over the place. The wobble is a bit too basic both the modulation and the sound. Try personalizing the sound by experimenting... Also try to use scales or notes within a chord progression to create a better melody. Google those things if you need to. The vocal sample doesn't quite feel as part of the tune, work on it!

@The Wiseman: The intro a bit too much for my taste. The high wobble a bit too high maybe? And too many snares and bass drums... Reminds me of a blast beat somehow. But ignoring that, I like the feel of the tune and the vocals are awesome!

@oprs: I don't know man... Looks like it needs A LOT of work. The beginning sounds pretty ok though... The high pitched stuff at 0:23 sounds a bit annoying. Choose some better notes and bring it an octave down or something.

@RatRaceProducing: Outside Your Own Head: Really love the melody. Could use a better wobble... It sounds a bit tortured, too high pitched? Or maybe it's just me. Nice break at 2:45! Overall awesome tune!

Here's mine! Another glitchy drumstep! I guess it's almost finished but I wanted to post it here first... Maybe you guys could help me make it better. I don't really know how to master properly so if there's any specific tips in that area I would greatly appreciate it!

Sorry for having to make you go to the soundcloud page but I really can't release it yet... Just listen... It's worth it!

@ Bass sedation. Its nicely processed, but maybe moving to much??

@ Smooth mate. hits clean , but dirty

@ Debaser. Ha..... im crazy for the editing!!! something I need to learn better!!! hmmm all I can think of is maybe after 2:30 do what you did in 1:54, but then drag the bass out more for more of that ... oh fuck my head is bouncin' shit. That bass would really make it happen for me.

Random ideas. Dropping some keeping some. transitions are sucking as much as I processed it, but am looking for some ideas.
THANKS!!!! :D:

Back on the speakers and sub for todays feedback (apologies for it taking a few days. wow 5 pages already.)

Debaser1: Yay a debaser track! saw this last night and wanted to listen to it today. I see what you mean that structure wise its done, good structure by the way, no one piece is too repetitive. Aw yeay that intro synth, not sure if it fits with the dark vocal but that does fit with those sad strings. like that kick kick drop! I dont have a problem with the kick as someone previous has stated but where it fills those high freq when the snare hits it doesnt reach quite the same frequncie height (only my opinion quess) Its sounding good and the mix seems to give all the things there right space. Maybe beefing up that intro sound as its abit quiet/plain when its used once everything is playing ( my opinion again) i did like it in the intro as it was tho. When i first heard the strings in the intro i thought it was clashing with what the rave synth was playing but really enjoyed the ending stings. all in all good work, be interesting to know what you decide to change.

@ilv1: ...confused its set to pricate so i have to go to soundcloud because its not ready to release yet its downloadable and not in clip form. anyway i actually like it. Extraction right?? liked the intro got some hiphop vive in there, likied how those sounds seemed to feedback over each other in the intro then the disapear then theres a pause then the drop. i would of liked to hear the sounds get messed up then the drop. imo. The piano is done really nicly, it was abit here and there for me and i couldnt find the groove but i enjoy the listen, and its not overpowering or too mental i would enjoy having this on in the background. liked the second drop on this. compently put together.

nibzdub: the first thing i noticed was that when i put my hand on my sub it sounded like long sub notes rather then wobble sub to follow wobble bass. is this the case? is this the intent? Not to keen on that bass sound but like what you did in that first breakdown, like rave piano, that was cool. Your drums sound really good, like the bass after the second breakdown more. Maybe something else in the second breakdown alhto you maybe going for a minimal feel. maybe reverse the audio or something? or some filter automation . .dunno just guessing, cuz its the same as the other breakdown.
sneaky 3rd breakdown thought the tune was over lol. sounded alright mix wise, just wasnt keen on the bass used ^^

@epochalypso :: earstrike. quite a deep sounding wub,. Got a nice minimal feel to it. drums sound a bit repetitive, maybe some variation.between 1:24 - 1:51 . Afterwards i reallly like how it slow down, maybe ud lose that feeling if there wasnt some repetition on the faster drums idk. liked the synth used in 3:20 altho the falling sound seemed abit dull could do more maybe (all my opinions) ( im liking your tracks tho)

Rhek@ Vocals, freash interesting, really good build up drop, nice clean synth sound, made me think of a subfocus chase status tune on the build up. sounds big and the vocals are clean. "who gave you reasen? who gave you cubase" , im not sure about the drop? it kinda pases me by until 1:57 mark, like my ear couldnt focus on one thing or the bass wanst in your face enouth. now this isnt a bad thing as those bass notes at 1:57 work well. Fan of this track , sounds commercial in a good way not in a bad. Curious to know what others think about it.

bass sedation@ Back on the speakers for this! okay intro im into it simple resonating thingy,,, nope still find it boring sorry, i like the artistical diffrence its bringing to the tabel and once its starts going crazy im happy and curious as to where its going to take us. The druns seen abit swallowed up in the mix, maybe the bass is eating up headroom? the mix sounds kinda off. snare not hitting enouth either.
Yea i got some tracks on my soundcloud, i had them up in januarys thread but i knew some things i could change about them before reposting them so i thought just doing feedback would be good >< il pop one on here for mix reasens.

@homenoiserecord: wasnt keen on those long held synth notes untill they changed into the the riff at 0:42 nice riff. Drums sound like they could be bigger more in the forground. wasnt too keen on it but like the riff enouth that i might change my mind with a more powerful mix.

ah another track by you. newer better. i wasnt feeling this, your other track i enjoyed more, this seemed to be a bit samey and meh. other track better for me.

Rhek: another one, dnb, yay thats where i come from :) , yea looked over the Doa forum and didnt seem to friendly user friendly and i had to wait about over a week to be autorised to post lol. So another one by you .. similer intro, well constructed maybe needs something else to fill the space but it works just as well. maybe the riser could have been strarted earlier so it runs longer, drop is good but build up seems abit lackluster. like the minimal drums(no break) yea nice track. maybe some more fx or crazy fx on the vocals to keep my interest, felt i was mentally drifting off just before the clip finished.
