You don't have to donate. It's if your direct linking to an mp3 rather than linking to soundcloud or something. I put mine in my dropbox public folder then link to the FAWM site that way.

EDIT: Also I'm upping my 5th track within the next half an hour I reckon

I wouldn't blame anyone if they wanted to shoot me in the face for how pretentious this is, but it's possible I've got some kind of
Soundtrack- to- a- Film- in- my- head vibe going on. Maybe set during the 1st Gulf War or something, focusing on the 'War is Hell' approach.

..But who knows. If anything, I know now the Muslim call to Prayer, haha!

Have to say I find this websites constant plee for donations a bit unsettling. I mean I could understand if they were actually spending money on it...but they don't host anything except the profile pages and the forums. Clearly haven't had much in the way of graphics work paid for etc. I mean there are websites that offer a lot more features and have much slicker graphics that don't try and charge you anything to use them. I understand that hosting a website costs money, clearly, but this thing is only up for a few months of the year and their 'FAWM donation meter' implies they are expecting people to donate over $10,000??? They've already got more than 4k, seriously, the guy that started this must be raking it in. Not to mention the merch shop as well O.o

I'm getting used to online services raping undue amounts of cash out of consumers but usually they at least make a pretence that the money is gonna somehow find it's way back into the hands of the user via an updated interface, media hosting etc

Lots of good 'uns tagged under 'Ambient' I've found. Also really impressed with the quality of some of them recorded with iPods!


But yeah, I'm curious as to why the guy expects a total donation of 10 Grand. I'm thinking I wanna get in on this if it brings in that kind of income LOL

i made 14 tracks, but a couple of them stink and it's too long. i made about 85 minutes of music, so i'll probably make some new tracks to replace the stinky ones/edit some of the tracks down/make dope album transitions
