To the folks who have had tunes mastered...

Ive used this guy, he's pro, not a bedroom masterer. Fantastic studio, based in Hove UK. Rates were around £25 a track but £50 if you send him stems. I went down there and chilled in the studio for over 3 hours while he beavered on my track... for £50.. so I bunged him some more as a drink becuase he was spot on and i was embarrassed at how cheap it was for what he did. It really helped to be there too because we could chat through the parts and how i wanted them... His kit was A+, his client portfolio was good.

The finshed file was fantastic.

Looks very much like a mix studio to me (in fact it blatantly is), maybe the offer mastering cause the mixing is not going too well?
Being your second post how do we know you don't run the studio?

There is significant nonsense written on the site :

B&W 802's - err... might want to show them them.

"Groove Tubes ViPre all tube pre/saturation (for stem mastering vocals)"

What for? they have been recorded, no need to use a microphone preamplifier again.

When choosing a mastering house apply common sense this will stand you in good stead.

You want an a/b? This was mastered at Lacquer channel in Toronto - one of the older mastering houses (around since the 60s)
If you think that mastering your tunes will take them to a whole new level you're very mistaken but it will help them shine and sound more balanced and a touch cleaner and larger.

Some notes from the engineer (schematic)
EQ
- Slight shelf from mids all the way up
- Boost on very high range
- Small boost in mid/vocal range
- Tight boost around the kick
- Tiny cut in low mids
Gain
- High input through the analog chain
- Small amount of clipping at the A/D converter
- Another little bit of soft saturation
- No limiting.
