Shutter Island was great... love the way it's pretty much left open to interpretation

I'm gonna watch 'A Serbian Film' tonight to see what all the fuss is about, I have a feeling it's going to be a shite exploitation film that doesn't have the balls to admit what it is so it tries to disguise itself as a 'political staement'. We shall see.

was delightfully surprised & had a good chortle at Megamind
and was engrossed with America in The Fighter & Winters Bone
& whatsisname was terrific as the stuttering king in what could've been a 5 minute doco.

Jonathan... Jonathan... Jonathan... Jonathan
Movie had such a vibe. Some really great shots as well...

Thinking of watching Au Hasard Balthazar tonight, but not sure I'm entirely up for it. Seems like quite a bummer, even for my tastes.

The sad life and death of Balthazar, a donkey, from an idyllic childhood surrounded by loving children, through adulthood as a downtrodden beast of burden. His life is paralleled with that of the girl who named him, and as she is humiliated by her sadistic lover, so he is beaten by his owner. But he finds a kind of peace when he is employed by an old miller who thinks he is a reincarnated saint...

Some of the concepts are pretty grim in the film and a couple of scenes hard to think about, but nothing unwatchable (except one small clip on CCTV of something a bit too far).

The way I saw it was not your usual slasher film with no story.
Its a well budgeted, well filmed, well acted and well written movie that just happens to deal with extreme subject matter and the resulting events.

If you disagree after watching it fair enough, but it's a film to watch to say you've seen it at least haha.

Didn't care for it at all to be honest, thought a lot of it was totally unnecessary, I'm not buying that this was a political statement like a lot of people have told me it is.
You can make anything a political statement if you dress it up enough, like.....if I shat in a bag and said it represented the government shitting on the lower classes.

Has anyone seen 'Exit Through the Gift Shop'?

If you have what are your views on Mr Brainwash's success at the end of the film being a hoax?

It annoys me that i don't know the truth.

Yeah just the whole him waking up and becoming a street artist bit, pretty much from the point Banksy told him to have a go at street art.

Read the reception and hoax speculation bit on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit_Through_the_Gift_Shop

Its quite clever on Banksy's behalf if it is a hoax, it just becomes a big circular thing about street art selling out and all that.

Got bored after about 30 minutes, which is a shame as it looked like it had potential but just seemed to be dragging and i couldn't be fucked. will properly try watching it again as i love andrew garfield.
I normally can't stand any of the lead actors in the film and I actually really enjoyed it

well I just thought it was a rather joyous romp with a guy in a funny moustache sticking his knob in things
