get a wealth of general knowledge before spending $ on new gear and soft imo
a wealth of books (that you actually read) on your shelf is one of the cheapest and best investments you can make
and the golden ears cd series and some quality monitors and cans

I am currently using Reason 4 to produce dubstep but am hearing Logic Pro is the way foward for Dubstep.
Would it be worth my while to purchase an Apple iMac with Logic Pro 9 or just try out a diffrent Music Programm?
Advice is needed as i am not very clued up with this kind of thing and been ignorant and only concerntrating on Reason 4 which i wish i hadn't been for the last 4 years lol.
Thanks.

You can make any music on any DAW. Moving to Logic will not make you suddenly improve your synthesis knowledge.

My advice is to stick with Reason. The synths that come with it can do ANYTHING you want to do tbh. Its all down to the person behind the computer as to what limits are involved.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

A lot of top end producers use garageband loops in their productions. Just sayin'

Love in the this club by usher for example.

Coki (apparently) uses Reason, and Mala used it in his earlier productions. Maleström is really good for subs I find.

It's a never ending quest. I started with fl, moved to reason, moved to cubase, moved to reaper, moved to logic on my mac, back to reason, and now I'm loving ableton!

But I still can use all the programs and know how to do the same shit in all of them.

But don't be a pirate. Like me. It took me a while to find one worth buying, at it's going to be Ableton for sure.
This. I basically hate anything with that "brutal electro" sound; it sounds all like HUGLAGHALGHALGHAL
