It's good but it seems a little dated to me.

I like the video. Especially when the battleship breaks out. I totally buzz of Battleships.

Various Productions is a weird one for me. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I think it sounds really forced. I don't think that this is one of the better songs on the album, but it's made me want to go and listen to the rest of it.

Such a quality album. Can't recommend it enough.

The theme of the video seems to be of a dystopian modern world which fits with the themes of the music. The movement within the animations is synced well with the music.

However, the female vocals on the track should be represented more strongly in the mis-en-scene as they are such an extraordinary and prominent part of the track. The collision of organic and technological is apparent in the music of Various Production, in the interplay between the acoustic and digital. I would like to have see this represented by the inclusion of more feminine objects and styling; the overall visual aesthetic seems very masculine. Maybe a female robot head could have been used or the objects form into the shape of a female robot vocalist, the bolts of lightening powering her mechanics.

I do not believe that the video conveys enough of the visual style already established by the group's website and album artwork. A collaboration with the artist of the album would have achieved this to great effect. Neither does the video have a unique enough visual style to be that memorable on its own merit. If you didn't like the track, how would you appreciate the video? Certainly this varies from each individual experience, and arguably you cannot really seperate a video from the music. But a video such as Chris Cunningham's video for Windowlicker reflects Aphex's visual style and creating its own unique aesthetic. Maybe it is not fair to compare this video with the work of one of the greatest music video directors of all time (Kode 9's Samurai music video is probably a better example and I believe this was made by students with a minimum budget). However, with the use of the artist of the album art, a more individual and probably more memorable video could have been produced.

Some of the 3D models and effects lack a polished quality. The lightening effects in particularly could be better and put be used more effectively, building throughout the track. I also wonder if the artist created any of those 3D models or downloaded/bought them and just made them spin around and change size a bit.

Overall I would say this in an interesting video that has attempted to create a visual style to a genre that has few examples to draw inspiration from. In my opinion it could have explored the nature of Various Production's themes and music in their first video, which is an advertisement of the group. I look forward to seeing more Dubstep music videos and hopefully getting around to making one myself soon!

cool at first, but for four minutes? a little boring.

reminds me of a "moving" version of the cover for massive attack's "collected" box set.

if you play "hater" and then mix amit "immigrants" in at 33 instead of 45, it mixxes pretty nice.

(i think its immigrants, it might be the tune on the flip)

Alex Rutterford did Gantz Graf, as well as things for Amon Tobin, Bjork and Squarepusher, similar style to his, but I wouldn't say that it was by him from looking at it, in my opinion.
