Stereo Imaging

Post by rubiconguava » Fri Feb 11, 2011 9:23 pm

I use reason frequently for the synths mainly the thor, i love it for making bass patches especially and something I cannot live without is the stereo imager native to reason, it has 2 bands so for instance you can set below 400 hz to mono and above that extenuate the stereo spread. I work in reaper a lot also, once ive got basic ideas down, and also entriely make tunes in reaper sometimes but I really miss the stereo imager. Can anyone tell me if there is a vst plugin (freeware preferably) which has the same features (the solo of either high or low band is also quite a useful feature of it?

Near the bottom Melda Stereo Expander is a nice one that can do different bands.

The SHEPPi freeware VST:

Although I'll say that the results sound much more dramatic through headphones than they probably will on normal monitors.

Dont think you can set the lower bands to mono on the Melda plug-in. Im lookin for the same thing. I know Izotope Alloy does it but thats hard to get hold of in the cheaper sense..
