So Im stuck between the Sennheiser HD280 Pros and the AKG K240s.
These will be used for hearing my mix during producing, for when i cant have my monitors blasting out. possible DJ use in the future but by that time, ill hopefully have enough money to have a proper set.
Please share your opinions/experiences.
Thanks

Try them.
If you can't try them, buy them, and send back the pair you don't want to keep.
It's a bit like recommending you a pair of trousers. Until you get them on, you won't know which suits you better.

Yeah im planning to go try some out soon,
but i don't want to pick the one with the stronger bass (or something like that) thinking it sounds better overall when i looking for a flat sound to mix down with

Pick the ones that sound right to you with a lot of listening - at least, as much as listening you can get done before they have to go back.
You don't want ones that are lean in the bass thinking it means they are flat, then end up getting it wrong (probably overdoing it) anyway
I have my system set up ever so slightly 'fuller' rather than perfectly flat, as it just sounds more right to me. It's not stopping anything translating, quite the opposite in fact

i own the k240's and i love them, great cans. Obviously learn them before you trust them for a mixdown as they're not perfectly flat.

I have used both, and they are both great pairs for their price range. I edge to the AKG's, and bought a pair they have been serving me well, but I don't think you would be disappointed with either pair. If you really want to use them for DJ use (I would not even put that into the equation myself) then the Sennheiser's are king, the AKG's are semi-open backed, and let lots of sound in, where the Sennheiser's block some out.
I would just try them though, and buy a different pair of DJ use.
