But then he goes to make a reference to seeing a tier 2 electronic jam band named lotus, which is the epitome of mediocrity. just a hunch but i feel the OP is looking for the heavy side of things, and NYC DOES NOT cater to them to much. dig around, or just learn to like better music.

Edgecom, i challenge you to find me a better live drummer in the scene than Mike Greenfield from Lotus. He filled in on tour with disco biscuits while their drummer had the flu and you would never have known that he was not their main drummer
Lotus at terminal 5 was great. I happen to have a very diverse taste in music and I listen to just about everything except for nashville country music. The point of my thread though was that NYC needs more Dubstep shows to EXPAND as a genre of music and make it more mainstream. This will get larger clubs with better systems involved, and ultimately get better dubstep artists interested in coming to NYC to perform. Underground shows only go so far and sometimes you have to wade through a bunch of shitty "producers" before you find a true artist in the genre.
I've since talked to the manager of the venue, and he tells me they have made some improvements to the system there, lots of rewiring, added more speakers, monitors and shit for bands. So it looks like they are spending money. I will drop some hints about subs and see what he wants to do. If he really wants to bring dubstep to the Lower east side, we will make it happen.
